Re: Cleanup on aisle 9! (Chili Dogs and Rum prefight)
Nope, the laptop that runs my drum machine appears to have been ruined by some sort of windows update, so I'm not going to be able to put anything together...

Re: Cleanup on aisle 9! (Chili Dogs and Rum prefight)
I have a lyric and will see if I can make it a song... wasn't going to work on it because it's about getting old and it's doomed to sound like Jimmy Buffett, but I'll see what comes out, but don't delay posting the songs on my account, I don't mind being a late entry...

Re: Don't call it a fetish (Fixation reviews)
Well, wow! Thank you to all who voted - I never even got around to voting myself - I felt like I shouldn't vote 'til I did reviews, and I never got to that. I was pretty pleased with how the song came out, although my lyricist was rather disappointed in how many lyric changes I made to his original....

Re: Am I overly focused? (Fixation prefight)
Finally came up with a song, with the help of somebody I wrote some songs with back in 1984, who provided a lyric to inspire me. Audacity messed up the compressor in their latest update, which I just discovered, and as a result of having to sort that out, this may be a pretty loud mix, with, likely,...

Re: Fixation
Lyrics by Matt Liffengren, a guy I wrote some songs with back in 1984, and recently reconnected with via what's left of Facebook. Music and performance by King Arthur. When we wake up at the break of day When we lie down in the dark of night I think about you every step of the way I’ll be thinking o...

Re: A parade, or a marathon?! (A Grand Parade reviews)
To fluffy and anyone else: part of the reason why my entry may have sounded "tired" is that the vocal track is definitely a scratch vocal - I only took one shot at the vocals, because the Mrs. and I are both retired now, so I have a lot less "home alone" time than I used to, and ...

Re: A Grand Parade
There were a few minor lyric changes during the recording, this is the original "as written" lyric. The older I get, the more I believe That I've had my money's worth for what I paid I'm not letting go, but I probably have Covered my share of the grand parade. I've been back to beginnings,...

I'm gonna give it a shot. But I've given it quite a few shots over the past couple years that haven't amounted to anything, so... it'll happen or it won't.

for "Letter to the Editor"
Not gonna have time to deal with this, and it's not entirely ready for prime time, but if anybody can use it: LETTER TO THE EDITOR King Arthur Sometimes things go right Sometimes things go wrong Sometimes there's not much to do But to keep on keepin' on. Lately I've been feeling Like maybe the fault...

Re: Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog
King Arthur: I don't remember much these days I have to write things down Don't always get what people say I get it twisted 'round. I'm a wanderer above the sea of fog Looking down on the tops of the clouds Wond'ring where the ground has gone to now. I have trouble organizing my thoughts Connections...

Re: Strike Me Down lyrics
There's always had some argument surrounding me Once there was a verdict, now we wait and see Are you gonna strike me down this time round? I thought that I was carved in stone, written on the wall But nothing's ever really settled once and for all Are you gonna strike me down this time round You kn...

Re: And if I lie then may God (Strike Me Down prefight)
Once I figured out what my approach to the title was, the song wrote itself in about 10 minutes. Just waiting for a little "home alone" time so I can improve the lead vocal track a little bit, and I'll be in!
And... sent!

Look up at the night sky Turn in a northern direction Pick out the Big Dipper It's a well known constellation Second star in the handle Turns out it's actually two If you can make out both of them Well, good for you It's an ancient Arabian eye test If you can see both lights you win Not so much when...

Have an idea for this, biographical in the sense that everything I write any more is about getting old. My favorite line so far is, "Prince prints most of his lyrics / in a tiny purple font..." but I don't wanna give away too much. Tryin' to bring the reggae this time, wish me luck!

Re: sonofgearfight #4: "No Help At All"
Congratulations to All the Robots. Definitely more catchy than mine was; I remember when I was leading the worship band at our church, I'd listen to a bunch of songs and then whatever was stuck in my head a couple days later would get taken to the band. So, yeah, I gotta work on writing more catchy ...
