Re: Just cause I want to drink young blood you think I'm (Super Creepy prefight)

Makes sense, KA. I certainly don't hate your synth sounds, just thought maybe try using them as synth sounds instead of horns. For experimentation and to shoo the fly. Glad you're on a roll, hope I'm hip enough to pick up on this week's story.

Re: Are You There God? It's (Young Blood Reviews)

Berkeley Social Scene (1) - Galloping right out of the gates with only occasional stumbles, this New Wave-ish tune is great fun. I don't know why you guys couldn't get Rod Stewart to sing it though. (wink) It always takes me a moment to get into the bridge though. Don't know why. Berkeley Social Sc...

No, super creepy is that just last night I dreamt that I was telling a buddy of mine about a talented pool of (mostly) Canadian folks that occasionally enter songs as Gert. You guys are great but please don't manipulate my mind like that, thank you. Weird, man!

Re: New music from Carol Cleveland Sings

I got the vinyl. I got rid of all but a crate of favorite LPs several years ago after cooking my collection to MP3, so purchasing new vinyl is very uncommon for me. Came with a digital download ticket too.

Super Creepy - Paco del Stinko He got the Jesus on the headphones He's flyin' underneath the ozone oh oh oh Circles of coal don't see, the monkey fell from the tree Holds up his hand can only count to three He stands and strokes his beard You turn and he's disappeared oh no Cracks his neck with a t...

Well, I aim for precision, but my skills or, rather, lack thereof, never quite hit the mark. So long as I don't miss by too wide a margin, I'm ok with it! Thanks for the comments and keep the songs coming please. :)

Re: You Gotta Put A Ring On It (Hitched Reviews)

Dirge - Very epic demo. The sections all work together well and although the atmospheric middle section meanders, it still manages to send you off into space. The chimey guitar in that section could be played on piano and sound great, I think. Heroic ending. Glennny - Life inside Twinkle Town openi...

Re: You Gotta Put A Ring On It (Hitched Reviews)

Dirge: Thanks for the comments, mine are forthcoming. The tremolo guitar is two tracks of the same guitar doing the same part. Jazzmaster vibrato, which just gives wiggle, no bombs. Very chorus effect sounding via double track. Drums are indeed me on my kit. I woud never dare call myself a drummer, ...

Re: Covering random songs from the archive

KA - Im glad you like it, that makes me feel good. Fun tune, sorry I mangled some lyrics. Think I made up a new word there. Whatever it is. Lunk - Thanks, as always, for your hard work. I do appreciate it. And yeah, I'll take another. I was thinking that if one of my own ever comes up, I'd take it. ...

Hitched

Hitched - Paco del Stinko Out in the desert under the sun An endless road and one lone thumb Who pulled over who gave the ride Who was the last one to see you alive You hitched- You hitched- You hitched- You hitched The road unfolds like a sea of black leather And I've sailed it thousands of times ...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

Dirge: Thanks for clarifying. I too have a ton of gear (don't want to turn this into Gearfight! or a gear porn page) and often reflect on how much more the limits were often pushed when you had to stretch your imagination due to restrictions in gear or technology. A few years back, I decided to keep...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

Dirge: Thanks for sometimes liking my bass parts. I have several basses, but the one I use most is an early 80's Tokai Hardpuncher. It's a P-bass and easily my fave. I typically run it into an Eden pre/di, then into both a Summit Audio compressor and a Bluetube pre-amp. There are other things I do o...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

I got a little more sounds like this band name droppy than I like to, but, uh, there it is. Ask for clarification if needed. Dirge - Funny, the guitar sounds good until the other instruments come in, then it sounds gravelly. Less gain for rhythm parts actually helps, despite the inclination to fuzz ...

Glenn - You're way too kind. Thanks for pointing out the bass line though, I love doing them, probably my favorite part of playing/recording. That is my five string Jazz Bass there. Also, I wouldn't be against a noodle-fest, when appropriate. Right song, right time, that sorta thing. Thanks for the ...
