Re: Covering random songs from the archive

KA - Im glad you like it, that makes me feel good. Fun tune, sorry I mangled some lyrics. Think I made up a new word there. Whatever it is. Lunk - Thanks, as always, for your hard work. I do appreciate it. And yeah, I'll take another. I was thinking that if one of my own ever comes up, I'd take it. ...

Hitched

Hitched - Paco del Stinko Out in the desert under the sun An endless road and one lone thumb Who pulled over who gave the ride Who was the last one to see you alive You hitched- You hitched- You hitched- You hitched The road unfolds like a sea of black leather And I've sailed it thousands of times ...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

Dirge: Thanks for clarifying. I too have a ton of gear (don't want to turn this into Gearfight! or a gear porn page) and often reflect on how much more the limits were often pushed when you had to stretch your imagination due to restrictions in gear or technology. A few years back, I decided to keep...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

Dirge: Thanks for sometimes liking my bass parts. I have several basses, but the one I use most is an early 80's Tokai Hardpuncher. It's a P-bass and easily my fave. I typically run it into an Eden pre/di, then into both a Summit Audio compressor and a Bluetube pre-amp. There are other things I do o...

Re: Seal it with handshake (Good Faith reviews)

I got a little more sounds like this band name droppy than I like to, but, uh, there it is. Ask for clarification if needed. Dirge - Funny, the guitar sounds good until the other instruments come in, then it sounds gravelly. Less gain for rhythm parts actually helps, despite the inclination to fuzz ...

Glenn - You're way too kind. Thanks for pointing out the bass line though, I love doing them, probably my favorite part of playing/recording. That is my five string Jazz Bass there. Also, I wouldn't be against a noodle-fest, when appropriate. Right song, right time, that sorta thing. Thanks for the ...

Re: Covering random songs from the archive

Thanks, Lunk. I had to guess at a couple of the lyrics, but think that I made them fit. For that song, oh, they fit! I'll post in a day or two.

Thanks for your hard work Lunk, I appreciate the help. Meanwhile, you can toss me another when you have time. I should be able to get to it sooner. I hope.

Thanks for the reviews, peoples. Here some responses. Someone here says to never respond, but I think it's ok, in an explanatory or clarifying manner. Dumb if you're all "well, screw you if you don't like it, nyah nyah gargle bargle" kind of way. Paco is the parallel dimension the cars The...

Berkeley Social Scene - A mild psychedlia inside of a pleasant cave that is cool, not cold. Bridge and post bridge vocals/breakdown are my favorite sections, nice work there. Bootlegger Girl - Glad to hear you, Elaine and Co., oh yes! Vocal work is superb, I'm hoping that you performed them all ind...

Re: TEN YEARS AGO

Heh. Gotta speak up on this one. I was one of a few who did all eleven songs. KA missed one or two, WreckdoM did a bunch. I listen to the Abomb songs, as an album, periodically. Some classics in there. Mine...not so much, but there are some moments of mine I think are decent. Long time ago, man.

JSmitty - Excellent delivery and some clever/tricky wordplay. There are times when I want to hear double time machine gun vocal line rattle by, just to, oh, plow me over or something. Nice backing tracks and I wonder if the vocals were double tracked or copied and nudged? Macaque Attack - Yeah, you...

The Grim - My buddies, once upon a time, would have called those Voivod chords to start the tune. I thought Chavez. Whatever. I like the arrangement here and terrifying chromatic freefall especially. Great vocal work, I hope that a lot of it is microphone technique. Guns and religion: no thanks. Ma...
