Re: Chill out, already (Everybody Calm Down reviews)

sorry for the review dribbles here and there....time is not my friend. Flvxxvm Florvm Dig: lead guitar slide and tone...nice., some of the harp moments are gold. Don'ts: lyrics overall: nice tone! this grooves pretty well. Not feeling the vocals as much, but can't put my finger on why. I'd have it o...

Re: Chill out, already (Everybody Calm Down reviews)

and another 1/2 hour has shown itself to me...... Billy's Little Trip Dig: Great mix, great production! This is awesome. Don'ts: none. that's right...none. overall: I like the energy, I like the tune, I like frenetic. Yah it's obvious. But it's really doing it for me. Possible vote, definite keeper....

Re: Chill out, already (Everybody Calm Down reviews)

Thought I'd snap off a few more.... The Weakest Suit Dig: great intro line...hooked me right away. Kind of funny. Don'ts: rest of the song doesn't live up to the promise of the first line. overall: kind of plain, the drug reference is sort of humourous, but nothing really grabs me aside from the, "I...

Re: Chill out, already (Everybody Calm Down reviews)

Hey all! I'll have to complete reviews in 2 or 3 parts..life is just too damn busy these days. Reviages: Finding Nemoy Digs: guitar interplay, electric/acoustic blend, story-ish narrative lyrics, intended melody Don'ts: vocal pitch issues...compouded with doubling overall: I like it. Singing could b...

Those might be the awesomest reviews I've ever read, in terms of pure entertainment.

Puppies and Flowers jumped out of my laptop and punched me in the face.

Re: What are you listening to right now?

Sweet to hear that Billy! I've been working with Brad for the last many months on the mixes and I have to say, the whole album is pretty awesome. It sure helps to like the music your working on.

Re: Bender for President (Robot Candidate Reviews)

It's been a huge long time since I was last kicking around, so greets to everyone. Yo. Here's half of my reviews...I hope the other half come along tomorrow. No horse town -lyrics and melody delivering them are cool. Feels like some of this is a bit throwaway. I dig it for novelty appeal, but would ...

Love this thread. Haven't had much time for music this year, but I was able to try out 12 Days of Christmas. Got the whole family and some friends drunk and we belted it out. Heh. I love Christmas! http://www.thehipcola.com/christmas/CoshChristmasCollection-07.pdf I should point out that Leaf awesom...

a casual perusal of torrent sites I've known finds nothing of this album available yet. By eliminating the album getting into the manufacturing stream before being available online, they effectively eliminate the "leaked" copies that might rob them of sales. Pretty smart, if that's part of their ide...

Hey Puce, I was recently doing the same thing to my little studio...here's a great reference chart to give you a heads-up on a variety of materials you might consider: http://www.bobgolds.com/AbsorptionCoefficients.htm (Thanks Des!) I've just picked up a bunch of OFI-48, rigid stuff. It seems to hav...

Quick update - the Oct31 release date has been pushed back. I've decided to turn this into a multimedia affair, which was the original (abandoned) idea. I didn't think it was at all feasible to think I could shoot and assemble something approaching what I originally had seen in the mind's eye, but I...

It might even be one more awesome. You can get lost in it.

I like Muse, but I find it gets kind of same-y after awhile. They do have a few outstanding songs though.

I used to 'ride the faders' when needed, and now that I work in the box mostly, using Cubase, I employ automation very frequently. It was a kicker to get my head wrapped around, but once I figured it out, I never looked back. Automating the standard stuff (faders, panning, track on and off) is usefu...

Perhaps you should scream into a scream-body instead? :) I'm having a pretty good day too, as it's payday for a mixing project I've been involved with for the last 6 months! heh, a few years ago I too thought it would be brilliant for my extended family to start archiving images and scanned thingies in a central repository, for similar reasons as Roymond...people were aging and a few were leaving us and taking their stories, our heritage, with them. So I suffered, SUFFE...
