Re: Sweetwater and less-unethical consumption
Wait, what’s wrong with Ballast Point? I love me some Sculpin. Didn’t they get bought by one of the big brewing conglomerates a while back?

Re: Dumb Random Song Parodies
All the time. The other fun one is if I am trying to cajole the kids into doing something I will make up a song about it and sing it until they cave. Come on it’s time to clean the pool filter, Come on it’s time to clean the pool filter, Come on it’s time to clean the pool filter, We gotta clean tha...

Interesting. I am pretty sure I’ve used the King Arthur blend for cookies, but I’ve never tried it for pizza. Perhaps I should do so.

That is a tasty looking ‘za. Our local grocery store has been out of my favorite flour blend for pizza dough (Bob’s Red Mill), but it’s just come back into stock this week. I will have to indulge in a pizza soon...

48k/20-bit. Only reason was that years ago when I upgraded from ADAT-land to a DAW, I set it to what the ADATs spoke so I could transfer all my old projects into the computer, and I just never changed it. Perhaps it is time to revisit?

I meant to post this one earlier, US comedy legend Carl Reiner passed away too: https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/01/entertainment/carl-reiner-death-obit/index.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2000_Year_Old_Man Surprised that one didn’t get more headlines. I grew up watching reruns of the Dick Van Dyke...

If you are on android, check out the f-droid market . Most of it Truly Free(tm) and they warn you when it isn’t. There are some decent games on there. There are a lot of terrible games on there. The problem being it’s up to you to sort them out. Welcome to open source. My kids enjoy https://f-droid....

Re: Cooking
‘round these parts most of the Mexican joints use crema fresca instead of sour cream. I mean, I’m sure Taco Bell and the like use sour cream. But they don’t really count.

Congrats Jon Eric!
Strong competition this year, I do not envy the task of the judges. So many fantiastic songs, choosing which to eliminate is an impossible choice.
Great work everyone!

Assuming the other event that was going to prevent me from making it this year is also cancelled for the same reason (as I strongly suspect it will be), I’m in!

I've gotten plenty of reviews that were harsh, but I don't think I ever got one that was wrong. To me that's part of what makes this a great community.

Re: Song Fight! Is 20 Years Old!!!
Such a great community, so many memories. Went to the SongFight! presents in late 2003 at that weird venue above in an industrial neighborhood near 280 (is my recollection?). I remember Brother Machine rocking the house, and Son of Supercar being so loud they forced half the crowd outside. Epic. Att...

Re: Rest In Peace
Director Joel Schumacher passed at 80 after a battle with cancer. I remember seeing St. Elmo’s Fire as a teenager in the mid 80s and it made a huge impact on me. The breakup scene where they argue about who gets which albums in particular has stuck with me. NO SPRINGSTEEN IS LEAVING THIS HOUSE. Res...

Re: Rest In Peace
Not sure why it didn’t make the news (OK, I know why it didn’t make the news), but I just read recently that Annie Glenn died last month (COVID). Arguably did more for the American space effort than her husband John and just an incredible advocate for humanity. Rest in peace. https://en.wikipedia.or...
