Re: Help Save Somesongs!

Just to let you know that I give up my leading role on saving somesongs, which I think is a great archive of music, but otherwise quite dead. I had a great time over there and discovered some wonderful music and artists, plus I got some insightful advice from comments of other members on my songs; b...

Re: The Smiths - Side Fight

Well, the problem with Wife and Kid were not that serious. My son had to be under observation for a month. Now he and his mum are back again since a few days, but getting back to normal proves too be difficult. I guess I have to cancel my version altogether. Maybe later, in a few weeks I am able to ...

Re: The Smiths - Side Fight

I'm not going to make the deadline... too much going on here, with wife and kid in the hospital.
It's going to be another time for me...

Re: Help Save Somesongs!

I stop rating for a while from now on. Too many things offline that take my attention right now... But... I am curious when the (or if a) next person is going to comment and rate all 1360 songs on somesongs... it appears to be far more easy to post a song than to take the time and rate and comment a...

Can't really go wrong with the SM57.

At the venue where I briefly tried to learn the basics of live audio engineering that one was used both for snare as well as for guitar amp cabinets. In the right hands, that sounded pretty darn good (those weren't my hands of course, no talent at all, so I quit).

It doesn't look to me like somesongs is destined to be saved. Like a previous poster said, it's lack of participation. That may be obvious, but very few people are using the site for its' intent. I've had a couple songs up there for a couple weeks , and they're still in the top 15 and not up to the...

Hey, thanks for commenting!
My Tomato song was supposed to be about a really bad singer feeling sorry for the tomatoes being thrown at him.

Well, it's been a week now since I posted my last song on somesongs. In that week some new songs were posted. A grand total of 2 comments were given on those songs... Which brings me to my tip to save somesongs (because I still not fully believe it's saved yet). When you post a song, please comment ...

Andre was here at midnight I keep losing the beat here... it seems you slip in a beat or lose one every other bar; it's not strictly 4/4. Bax Short but good! Capitalist Youth Good wholesome old time music. My favorite. MC Crapalot / DoubleBack The sound is very muddy, which makes it hard to follow ...

Making this up as I listen

Ross Durand Excellent guitar work. Nice lyrics too, very listenable. Carpetburn / Pete Nice poppy song. Vocals are a bit weaker sounding... but the instrumental part is very crafty done. Signboy Funky indeed, and lots of over the top rapping. Not my thing, but well done. Maybe a bit flat sounding. ...

Now here is a somesongs review from Tuur Funeral dirge is a very good description. Maybe you were aiming for that; if so, you did a really good job! Doesn't exactly deserve the ultra low rating, but it's remarkable that even you cannot keep with the tempo and sing faster than the drums sometimes. I...

Atari in the desert Very well done but too slick for me. Capitalist Youth Great fuzz bass and harmonies. Why do you sing "you're going to dzzzzie"? Took me a few listens before I heard it was "die" you meant. Eddiebangs Well done! Good production and harmonies. Future Boy Nice harmonies, but I don'...
