Are you willing to post this song without drums? Please! How could I say no after being asked like that? Here you go: http://soundcloud.com/sportswriters/valentines-day-no-drums Thank you very much! For me it's perfect, now! Great work! Sportswriters: ... There is something exceedingly familiar abo...

Re: the last review of a song etc. (the last afternoon revie

I listened to my drums again. I was wrong -- the snare isn't on 3 and 6, it's on 2 1/2 and 6. It was supposed to be a ghost note leading in to the kick on 3, to syncopate the whole thing a bit. That's still how I hear the groove. But if you're expecting the snare on the backbeat it might well throw...

Wow, 22 cool entries! Votes for the entries that really touched me (in this order): Juliet's Happy Dagger - A worship song, right? I really dig these lyrics! Soothing melody, gentle vocals. More of that please. (I did something like that entering the Rattlesnake Songfight!) The Midnight Society - T...

Just now listening and couldn't wait to comment on this: Heine, I love your song. LOVE.IT. I'm going to make some "I love Heine" T-shirts - (but I'm going to spell it Hiney - is that OK)? Haha, 'Hiney' is quite funny. It's a German name and I guess it should sound a bit more like 'high ...

Re: From Asses to Ashes. Are we here yet? (prefight)

Another GnG song. Mostly recycled lyrics. Sloppy (but live) played and sung. It took me about 5 minutes to record - and now I've been spending more than an hour to decide if I should annoy somebody with it...

Nice idea!!! Hey, what about some merchandising? - Just kiddin'! Don't ever commercialise it! - We make our own music, so we should be able to create our own gooddies. I know a shop where you can get a mug with your own photo or jpg. So, at least it should be easy to create a Song Fight "coffee ste...

Re: From Asses to Ashes. Are we here yet? (prefight)

Ashes... Some uninteresting information, just to bore you all: The latest LP I bought this year was 'Best of Wishbone Ash '. One of my first CDs I bought 1987 was Moody Blues 'Every good boy...' which has a nice phrase: "We are part of the fire that is burning - and from the ashes we can build anot...

Heine - vote of catchiness +++ chorus melody +++ +++ a very solid GnG tune; I don't feel like it's lacking anything for its simplicity +++ Thanks, very kind. I've already googled it - but cannot figure out what is a "GnG tune". heine -- Love the lyrics. Makes me want to wave my songfight beer stein...

First time no overdubs. I wanted it to have a slight country feel. Hoping my accent's not too German for that genre.

I'm in. It's my personal tribute to that great German Krautrock Era of the seventies with bands like Eloy or Jane (which both come from my hometown and still somehow exist). It's got melotron, moog and some fine slide guitar. Don't blame me for some slight timing problems but it was the first time I...

A very merry Christmas to everyone! Ajl and Andrew - I like that "feel it just the same" - haunting! Is it the drummer or maybe latency problems with the DAW?
