too often musicians (here and elsewhere) take far far too long getting to the point . I don't expect to win many fans here by saying that sometimes "the journey is the destiny". While I don't share their particular tastes, Deadheads, I think, understand this. listen to a bunch of songs th...

Roymond Ambitious opening to go for a minute with no vocal. I think you get away with it, as there’s a lot of interesting sounds going on. Glad you liked it. It's sad when someone has to defend a minute without vocals. This isn't for you, Andy, but lots of people have said things like that and I fe...

I am grateful for the *unjustified* extension. I am *inexcusably* unable to submit by the 21st. Peculiar people day will be a happy day. Except for Marcus.

I think most of these would gain by compressing/limiting much less! Keep your levels down and limit only to catch the few escape spikes. More dynamics can tell a deeper tale. Do you mean record everything at low volume and then normalise as the last step of the process? Record so you get strong sig...

I think I do, this is excellent.  Vote: Roymond stands out after a second listen. I hope it still stands out. thanks! It's nice to hit a nerve now and again. Or o...

Shelley reviews - I don't grade on a level scale, so don't freak. MISS I love the intimacy here. The resonate gutter bass, the glistening backing vocals, the understated alarm. (7) Brice Henry and the Transformers Is this Marcus? Hey, I gotta Jetta. And those Subway munchies. Huh. I li...

There could even be a part about the life of an - imaginary - brooklyn-based songfighter, and how he suffers each fight he can't participate in, and then, just before total despair sets in, he gets in two sleepless nights to eek out another somewhat weird, obtuse song which draws votes from opposite...

Queen has replaced Freddie, right? Heard they're touring soon. Also, not that anyone died, but Thomas Dolby put an ad in an LA paper years ago looking for unsigned artists to join his (then) new band, and they kicked ass (releasing the Aliens Ate My Buick album - cowritten with the band members). It...

Although I know the show's director of photography pretty well, I don't really enjoy the show. But then again there are very, very few sitcoms that I do enjoy (for which I have no moral or artistic justification - I suppose that's a given).

Roymond - My mp3 player says this is 9:51! Tell me it's not true! Very Bowie-esque! I like this, but fear of prog-length is making me slightly nervous. I like the descending stop/start bridge (or chorus - it's hard to describe sections of a multi-section song accurately) - the harmonies are really ...

On the suck factor front - there will have to be some truly good songs involved, so no doubt many many hours of footage over many fights to get a couple end-to-end that really work out. Think of how many people Michael Moore must have followed for months to get that one woman who was so pro-war, but...

The part that intrigues me is a story about the independent music scene and how it doesn't need the establishment. There is a need to project P2P and music downloading as absolutely legal and legit mechanisms. Many people don't have this understanding because 1) they are not involved with independen...
