Re: Awesome Music (related) Videos
Check out my friend's spooky new music video, just released today! I wasn't involved in any of the actual music-making, but I am the Ominous Necromancer playing melodica and bass in the video. My husband is the Grim Reaper. I love the synth bassline. That looks like a CZ5000 in the video, was that ...

Re: Big Data - 3.0
You may know Big Data from the hit song “ Dangerous ” off the album 2.0. You definitely have heard it somewhere at some point. Wow, I live under a rock. Had heard the song, but somehow missed out on the video. That is great. All it needs is a third level of footage of the pitch meeting where they p...

Re: Awesome Music (related) Videos
I was talking with a coworker the other day about forgotten bands of the 80s, and I mentioned the Slickee Boys. This video is amazing. Peak 80s plus a dash of cable access with a side of VHS. Worth it for the intro alone.

RIP Alexei Leonov
Not a musical matter, but rest in peace Alexei Leonov. First man to walk in space and commander of half of the historic Apollo-Soyuz mission. Peace be with you.

Wonderful watch.
My takeaway was fuck the gear, it’s all about having phenomenal musicians. Seriously those dudes are on another level.

Re: My Life
It has been a hectic week. We’re still mopping up from a fileserver outage (It’s now 1AM local time on Friday night/Saturday morning and things are not completely back). I don’t run, but I did ride my bicycle to work twice this week.

Re: Your favorite music podcast?
Thanks For Giving A Damn - Otis Gibbs - Less about music (writing, production) and more stories from musicians. Most of them are super cool stories, too. Even the stuff I didn't think I'd be interested in were interesting. Thanks for sharing this. I was aware of his music, did not know he had a pod...

Re: Least-shitty distribution and manufacturing channels
Right, I should have been more specific. “Recording” has a very specific meaning under copyright law. I was just wondering what implications that has. I mean, the way I read it, it seems to say that I can’t put that particular rendering of my song on my own website anymore. Can I send it to a friend...

“Magic” was the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar. Rest in peace, Ric. You set me on the road to rock. |..| |..|
I hope you are up there jamming with Ben again.
Rock stars from when I was a kid should not be dying yet, dammit.

Geat sets y’all. Really enjoyed fluffy with the full band! Lunkhead played my favorite ‘Dirty Chucks’ which made my evening. I would love to rock with Pigfarmer someday. Stream was choppy in places, looking forward to seeing the full sets in IMAX.
Wish I could have been there.

Re: Berhinger cheap knockoffs off classic analog gear
I was watching the demo of the Pro-1 knockoff the other day. The Odyssey is also drool-worthy. I do have to say I am a little uneasy with the idea of trading on the name of fabled vintage gear and producing cheap replicas using offshore labor and cheap parts. Would I rather put my money where my mou...

Late to the party, but...
If you are a music and math nerd, you should look up Irving Kaplansky's "Song About Pi".
This is a phenomenal joke and I am totally stealing it.
