Man, check out the waveform for this single off Alice In Chain's 2009 album:
That is messed up! I mean, I want my tracks to "seem" loud but that is ridiculous.

Re: All Kinds of Opinions (...sorrow reviews)
Paco, that is in fact me on the drums. Bear with me as I try to learn how to play to a click. Thanks for the comments, I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out.
My favorite song this time was the Chocolate Chips song. I also liked Paco and Ross's songs. I wish I had time to do full reviews.

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
Cubase has that too and I think they even call it "freeze" also. Look for a little snowflake icon on your track in the main window. For some reason I don't use that feature, but I really should. Even though I've got 4 2GHz Xeons I still manage to bog my Mac down, if I use too many fancy re...

I'm using this one on http://somesongs.org/ : http://www.schillmania.com/projects/soundmanager2/ I was using that on http://sfjukebox.org/ originally too but a few months ago I switched to this one: http://jplayer.org/ They both are supposed to automatically detect HTML5 support and use that when av...

Nur Einers Anonymous
Hi, my name is "Lunkhead", and I think I am addicted to Nur Ein. I have entered or judged for every one except the first. Every time, Nur Ein crushes me to dust, leaves me destroyed and demoralized, and I have never even won. I told myself I would not go through it again this year. And yet...

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
"USB" is a bit vague. If you mean a USB "thumb drive", one of those little things more like the size of a stick of gum, you don't want to use that for recording. If you mean an actual hard drive, in an external enclosure, with a USB 2.0 interface, then that's plenty good enough f...

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
To paraphrase my earlier comment, a computer can only transfer so much data to/from a hard drive at a time. If your computer only has one drive, then GarageBand will have to compete with the operating system and all the other apps for a share of that capacity to transfer data to/from that hard drive...

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
I was suggesting it as a good thing to do in general, not as the solution to your specific problem. If you have a memory bottleneck, don't get another disk, get more memory. Also I was suggesting it as a way to mitigate the "need" for many of the "optimizations" mentioned in the ...

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
I can't really speak to your specific problems, and having another drive won't help if you are having memory related issues. It can help with reading/writing your audio data though. You can only access so much data from any one hard drive at a time. If you've only got one drive for everything, then ...

Re: Mac/PC Optimization Guides from Sweetwater
Some of the "optimizations" seem kind of dubious to me. A lot of it isn't very important as long as you use an external/second hard drive for all your DAW work. It's just a good idea in general to use a separate drive for your DAW work than your system/apps drive. That would mitigate issue...

Not to duplicate what I was saying on Facebook too much, but I've not seen anything that will let you modify multiple global settings at once, either pre or post Lion. I would love to learn of one too if anybody knows of one.

Re: April 2, 2012
The couple of times I did that I did not credit the lyricist in my band name, I just entered as Lunkhead. I tried to prominently credit the lyricist on the boards though. That seemed to be where it was important to credit the other person at the time. In retrospect, I guess people who go listen to t...

MG, did you post the full rejection notice somewhere? If so I missed it. Is that even allowed, I wonder?
