True. Though if I were to mention purple haze in a song, it would most likely be thought that I am referencing Jimi Hendrix and not the Cure.

Apple Venus Vol. I is an incredible album. I just was listening to Vol. II and I'm having a difficult time getting into it, maybe I'll listen to it again tomorrow.

Thought I'd tack on to the D.Nau fest. I burnt a cd of his stuff to listen to in the the car while driving in Virginia a couple months ago and my girlfrined J~ (who is a keen music listener) had no idea it was a SongFight guy, and I've made her listen to a lot of stuff. I thought that was cool.

Song Reviews

Some last minute comments here. Erik Ostrom I like the way the dual guitar part is recorded, you get a nice live performance feel out of it. Nice voice, I think it works better when you sing than in the spoken parts. Not digging the Cat Steven's references, but then I was never a fan. It almost soun...

In summary – I’m voting for FreddieLove – that was a cracker. Hey, two votes, cool. MIDI guitar, which absolutely always sounds fake Ha, first person to call me out on this. Yeah, this weeks was entirely done in Garage Band sans vocals. What really hurts about it is I have a beautiful Fender Hot Ro...

Massive Reviews

Andre Was Here at Midnight This could actually be cool if you didn't repeat the same thing over again. You have a unique, naive way of picking out solos that I like. Ultimately though, this wanders around and doesn't get anywhere. Caravan Ray Nice lower register to your voice, I hadn't noticed that...

Woohoo! Well, there's one vote.

I see you're in Findlay. I had a cousin who taught at Findlay University. He wore a hat with "FU" in big letters on it, funny.

Spinto Band at Knitting Factory NYC

Just saw that the Spinto Band, including Thomas Hughes of Carol Cleveland Sings, who you may know from here at Song Fight, is playing the legendary Knitting Factory In New York tomorrow night. If you are in the area, I highly recomend checking it out. http://www.spintoband.com They also have some so...

Suavalamp should be a real genre or band name or something
I always make up a genre for the song that I think it would fit into if such a genre existed. Past genres included lardcore an cold jam.

I will post the lyrics to the song and review, of course, in the next day or two.

nice vibe. I like this. Love the bass -- got a great Thievery Corporation feel to it. How did you do that? I'm assuming real bass direct into mixer? Any plug-ins? Drums are kinda awkward, listen to Thievery for ideas. Actually, should I say this? it's the sub synth bass sound straight out of Garage...
