Re: Nur Ein VII: Round Zero
Frankie, you ranked so well (at least with me) because of your approach to the challenge. Though your song is perhaps not exceptional, you have a solid core there and you found a creative and effective way to incorporate shouting into, well, a significant portion of the composition as whole. Round z...

I totally did not expect a name credit in the submission, but thanks! It's nice to be appreciated. I'm verbose, so it's rare that I can't come with lyrics, but I usually do about the same thing as Lunkhead: submit as myself, but clearly credit in the boards and the .MP3 tags. I've had some great FAW...

Well, that's just the review boards, mostly. Once you get past the hazing, we're all soft and cuddly.

Re: All Kinds of Opinions (...sorrow reviews)
Reviews may be forthcoming, but I have two observations:
1) I am honored that Roymond took up my free lyrics and very, very pleased with the results. What a great bluesy tone.
2) Late Billy & the Psychotics and sonofsupercar is better than none at all.

I like this song - a lot, actually - but I won't have the time to record it anywhere approaching properly by Sunday. So, I'll loan anyone these: all kinds of sorrow are headed my your way all kinds of sorrow hey... i opened up my eyes & there you were a-standin' what a beauty to behold - winged ...

Just a quick update. I totally jumped and got the program. LOVE IT. I still need to get more used to the finer points, but the samples are great and it's quite intuitive.

I'm boring. I just have my Old Spice because it works and I like the smell. Why all these new products 1) exist; 2) have to be named and shaped as if being sold to 12 year-olds I think speak mostly to the psyches of the marketers more than anything.

Re: Microphone / interface advice for a new guy
Yep. Get yourself an interface and a decent mic. I suggest the workhorse SM57. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audio/shure-sm57-instrument-vocal-mic An interface will give your music a huge boost in recording quality. But save yourself some serious bread and grab some GLS microphones , which are...

Create Space
I know many (most?) of us aren't into music to make money, but I stumbled CreateSpace this morning: https://www.createspace.com/ Basically, it looks like a multimedia self-published service. It's part of Amazon, so it's closely tied to that, but the plethora of options seems very interesting, and it...
