Here's a bunch more! dan does blindmime's ife - it'll be interesting to hear bme's lush arrangements taken into dan's style. i have the idea this'll be different. i think the vox need to be compressed/mixed further forward in the mix. also, i do miss the lush arrangements. on its own, it's pretty go...

Ah, speaking of old reviews, I like this one:

Jon Eric: "Just because you're singing doesn't make this normal."

(With the removal of some weird characters: ’ and replacement with an apostrophe).

Thanks c hack. Yeah, I don't actually have anyone in my family with it, but I know a lot of people that do. It's very serious. That reminds me, if you want CDs with your donation, send me a PM with your postal address so I can send them. :)

JDRF Charity Giveaway

I'm going to do a charity walk this weekend for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Inspired by Mssrs Shirt and Woodward, I've decided to make a similar offer. If any SongFighters donate $10 or more to JDRF for my walk, I'll send you a free copy of one of my current CDs: Fluffy Dinosaur Attac...

Ok, if we're on a deadline I'll post these in chunks. I was going to do them all at once, but I changed my mind. If the deadline approaches, not everyone will get a review. i'm listening to each original before the cover. this is going to take a very very long time. 1516 does sober's texas - i'm not...

I like the singing, wish that the levels were better set to bring up the vocals.
Since posting I've got some advice on just how to do that, so I'll try to post a new version later in the week.

Hey Lunkhead, it was fun the time I wrote lyrics and you made a song. I think it would be cool to do a real collab sometime. Not immediately tho :)

Hybrid is an awesome album, and I've got a limited-edition version with an extra DVD of videos and such. Looking forward to watching that.

Dollar Bill and the Inkpoints I guess I don't get it. Leaves me cold. The song doesn't engage me emotionally at all. Musically it's quite ordinary. Ha ha, this is the same review I gave you for last week's entry, Jim! Tony: DB&TI is a collab between J$ and me. So it's different because I work o...

Right now I'm listening to The Skatalites - Ball of Fire. These guys are like a combination of (modern) ska and jazz. They were certainly around for the invention of ska, actually, so they're much closer to the original idea of it, I think :) They do an excellent live show too.

CD audio isn't aiff, tho. I think it can be, actually, if I remember right you used AIFF on a mac when you burn CDs. The CD audio isn't technically WAV either, as you only write the raw data to the disk after dumping the header info. AIFF I believe is the same, with different header stuff which is ...
