Re: Video songs
Cool tutorial! I've wanted to do one of these for a while. Maybe songfight will give me an excuse to do it finally :-) I use Lightworks which is honestly a beast to learn, but it's also really powerful and free to use the only slighly crippled version (well, it's significantly crippled in that you c...

Re: 8 Days A Year (Drunk Season)
@kaz: Totally agree on the production and especially that pitch shift at the end. I did it to cover up a really ugly note. Found this slightly less jarring if you can believe that. Working on improving recording techniques, but it's not something I find easy. Don't have a great ear for it. And yeah,...

You should check the Gearslutz thread then. It's a great place for doing it by mail. I was hoping to find some local folks for an in person swap!

4 Track Collaboration Club?
Howdy guys! So I've been hanging around on the 4 Track thread over on gearslutz. Basically it's a handful of people mailing 4 track cassette recordings around and adding tracks. I'm trying to get something local going here in Boston. Any of you guys living around Boston and have an old cassette 4 tr...

Re: 8 Days A Year (Drunk Season)
Shot Pounder : I like the aggressive sound. It's really short, but I guess that fits the genre. Also couldn't understand any of the words other than "drunk season" Slickitude : Two punk songs in a row! Nothin's punker than drinking. Unless you're straightedge of course. Definitely prefere...

Pretty cool cover. I like the harmonies and whatever reed instrument that is in the back. Melodica? What's real instrument and what's sampled? For example the xylophone sounds?

John's Daughter June Took a trip to the Moon Which is to say she lost her mind She lives in a white room with walls so soft and bleak John's allowed to visit once a week Chorus: And you know, what that means... While I voted for Paco Del Stinko (cool track, I like the goofy vocal vibe), I gotta say, "Moves like Jäger" was by far my favorite line. Although a close second is a misheard line from Kraken's chorus. Ah, are we allowed to post slightly off colored stuff, cause I'd love to share my inter...
