JB Dollar Bill & the Inkpoints Caravan Ray X-Tokyo-River-God Jim Tyrrell Glennny & Friends Ben Kreiger Any chance Glennny & Friends could start things off? Our drummer has to wake up in Jersey at 5:30AM. I had originally told them we'd go on between 8:00 and 9:00. At the time I hadn't r...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Four
Italian, English, Curtal, Caudate, Spenserian are all fine. I supose Pushkin too. You must have a full sonnet within your lyrics. I think any rock and roll or pop phrasing will be fine. Even repeating things will be legal too. However when trying to judge between 2 awesome songs of equal awesomeness...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Four
To check the box for challenge fulfillment only the rhyme scheme is necessary.
However speaking only for myself I will be much more impressed if I hear 5 stresses in a line.

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Three
Adam, I'm a fan of your music. I hated this entry. It was at the bottom of my list before I considered the whole DQ aspect of it or not. We did have judge discussions about it. There was a judge who didn't realize your method, and your ranking went from tops to the bottom, I think another had you mi...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Two
Schadenfreude Frankie Big Face - I didn’t think anyone came close to your entry this round. This was a clear winner case. Instant classic! This cracks me up! It’s amazingly well done and inventive. I don’t quite get the story, but I don’t really care, the melody and composition is so strong. I don’...

Re: Songfight NYC v2
My flights are set. The "and Friends" boys are rehearsing our set. I will arrive in New York Sunday morning, take a train down to Jersey for a crash course rehearsal with the band. Then we'll come up for the Sidewalk Cafe electric gig. I have a Monday morning flight from JFK at 7am to Bost...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Three
I think Wreckdom has great instrumentation and production but needs more melody.
I think Cock has great melodies and singing, but I'd like to hear live instruments and great production.
(enjoy)

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Three
There was a short lived phenomenon called Nein last year, but i highly recommend that those that have fallen continue to make songs. Posting to Nein seems like the natural place. I'd love to hear more Lord of Oats, more Cock, more Student Band, more Nigel, etc. You're out of the competition, but I t...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Three
I think the precedent was set two years ago by Niveous, "no cross pollination" between contestants. Former contestants and other Song Fighters are fine. For the Guest vocals 2 years ago my 1st instinct was to hit up Erin, she was my competition in Merisan at the time. I'm glad that was ill...

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round Two
Not necessarily, I am suggesting your song sounds like Nirvana. Were you 3?2. Are you suggesting a similarity to Lithium? Because I could definitely understand the comparison.

Re: Nur Ein IV: Round One
The game changes as the field of contestants gets smaller. Solid writing and recording and performing will carry you to about 7th place. The last 2 or 3 rounds you have to do something risky and special hoping to stand above your competition. Even though the rounds are judged on that particular song...
