I have a lot of phrases in my solo song that are not palindromes, but I have some clear 2 measure response licks that are palindromic.

It reads like it has to make musical notes. So vocals, guitars, talented farting, whales, brims of glasses, timpanis.
I never interpreted it as it had to be in the vocal line necessarily. I am not a judge, but I trust they would specify vocals if that's what they wanted.
