Re: Drinking in the (Liquid Starshine prefight)

I wrote a chorus, but then I bought a _very_ comfy chair and didn't get around to finishing the song.

"I used to be a dairy farmer / selling all my liquid cow
But I invested in some sweet NASA technologies
And I'm a starshine farmer now"

Re: I think you've got my chair (Please Move Reviews)

Crump, the first verse is more like @furrypedro described - the kind of song Bambi would sing to his mother. The second verse is to you both, from that selfish part of me. Everyone else / thanks for the feedback, I know I was underdone for this song, and I only had a couple of hours to get it from a...

Re: I think you've got my chair (Please Move Reviews)

Gizo vs the 17455 - I got so sick of twee ukelele music in the 2000s I never want to hear it again. It's well written I guess but strong bias against the instrumentation. Yeah that’s fair enough I reckon. I’m not sure if my quest is now to find my other instruments, or win you over with my twee uke...

Tron Air / vote / the sun is out, the roads are sticky with tar, and the children are playing in the spray of a fire hydrant, while Harry and Sally drive past on their way across the country Phlebia / Do you remember that time we grew up in apartment next door to The Birthday Party? I think someone ...

Re: You're blocking my view (Please Move prefight)

I'm in. Completely ignoring your silly scales and musicality rubbish.

This is a classic gizo number - short, sad, and resolving in G.

The porta04 isn't running at the moment, so I had to fall back on GarageBand, but I stayed within the 4 tracks limit.

Re: Art (You’ll Know It When You See It prefight)

Dammit.

Crumpart has got me thinking about making things again, and has also got me listening to John Darnielle talk about things.

So maybe there's a shoddy single-take gizo track lurking in your future-deck, people....

Re: Table for Dahmer (The Supper Club Reviews)

Just thought I’d pop my old head in to say that Tron Air was great and maybe there should have been more Breakfast Club references.

I mean, really.

Miss you all - especially the ones I’ve never met, and the ones who flew away...

Re: I don't golf (Isle Dauphine reviews)

gizo Cool paired down vibe, the kind I like. I wonder how deliberate are the lo-fi-ish vocals, and did you mean to go in the direction. Like a bit rate reducer or distortion Thanks - the vocals were more lazy than deliberate, and I floundered around trying to find a comfortable effect. I have no id...

Re: Chock full of calcium (Bag of Bones reviews)

Hi all,

My reviews are about as awesome as my songs (read: absent).

I voted for a few of you, including Billy, Toshiro, Daring Front, Jonathan & Young Nick.

So, sorry for complete lack of helpfulness.

See you soon.

Yay! Songs! A couple of quick shoddy reviews. Disclaimer - I have little time & patience at the moment. I tend to give stuff a verse and a chorus. Maybe 2 minutes if I'm unsure. Also, I may have the artists all mixed up - just because.... Some thoughts. Steve Durand - I like the concept. 'Beauty...
