Who can see the comet?

Links and other hanky panky that doesn't have to do with anything in particular.

Who can see the comet?

NYC may be in the slow lane these days but it's still too f*cking bright.

Comets are mythical beings and I approve.

Saw it pretty well last night, less well tonight. It has a big long tail. Pretty great.

I've been trying to spot it since I get up for work at 530, but by the time I can step out for a minute to get a good view twilight is already drowning things out. Mars and Venus have been awesome lately though.

I'm gonna try once I swap to evening shifts here soon, though I've read it's better from northern latitudes (meaning Owl gets a better view up in Wisconsin than I do here in Georgia)

Supposedly it's been visible in Seattle but I've not thought to go out and look.

Had to get my binoculars out because the sky is still quite light at night here currently, but luckily I spent many years in art school drawing the night sky and can now find things pretty easily up there. JUST SAW THE COMET!

I tried last night but where I live is surrounded by generally dense pine/oak forests and where it was only like 20 degrees above the horizon it was hard to find a spot. Where I *did* get a decent view of that part of ursa major, it clouded up. Lame!

But I wound up looking at Saturn through a crappy telescope instead. So win?

Total win! Half of the point of looking up is finding something unexpected.
