But most of our time was spent trying to extend the word "of" out to several syllables, which was obviously the best part of the song.
Definitely well worth the extra effort

I made a video:

I wrote this 11 years ago for Nur Ein - and finally got around to re-recording it.

I thought it would be a song that would have aged quickly. Sadly, it wasn't

Was looking for videos on making custom-fit earbuds, and ended up seeing a very familiar person:

I was going to play my first gig in about six years today, but: Pandemic.

Thought I'd record some of the songs I was planning to play, before I forget them again. Three of them were Song Fight / Nur Ein, here's me playing "Your Discarded Cigarette" and probably looking mildly uncomfortable on camera.

These both sound awesome, excellent work! Too bad about the gig but I’m glad you got a chance to record and share these.

Ah man, that's crappy about your gig. Nice videos though! That guitar is a real beaut, sounds good too.

Really enjoyed seeing you perform these songs Vom! It's nice to now have a visual for that voice, and that guitar sound I'm so familiar with.

Thanks all! Now that I'm familiar with the process (Windows Movie Maker, woo!) I'll hopefully do some more of these in the future. I treated myself to this guitar last year after Nur Ein, my first new one in a decade or so!

Today we were supposed to be playing a show I was looking forward to for a while, with a friend from Cleveland who was supposed to be on tour from SXSW. But of course that's been cancelled. However:

We played a Natalie Merchant/10,000 Maniacs tribute set last June as part of a Lilith Fair revival show with all local musicians. I got a message out of the blue a couple of days ago from someone who filmed our set last year and finally just put the video on Youtube! I miss playing music with people in person.

I did a couple of songs for this week's Totally Acoustic Vodcast, and they're both SF-adjacent!

I've stuck the songs on Bandcamp and for streaming too, since they weren't officially available anywhere - the version of Fan Theory is remixed and improved from the Nur Ein version!

Toshiro and I revamped one of his guitars last year because it was dirty and ugly and neither of us wanted to play it. I've finally finished making the video for my YouTube channel where I make stuff. Thought I'd post it here if anyone is interested.

That looks awesome! I love the pattern you came up with.

Thanks! I still don’t really like playing that guitar because the sound just isn’t my thing and it’s also quite heavy, but at least it looks fun now.

Video for Gaping Maw's entry this week - Expert Opinion.

Smalltown Mike and I have extra time these days, seemed like a good opportunity to explore the world of video. FILTERS are life. haha.

Hope you're all taking good care and doing well - what a time.

Last year in Madison I mentioned to owl that I've been obsessed with the idea of owning a hurdy-gurdy for quite some time, and a few months ago she pointed me to a company that makes functional models, one of which is a hurdy-gurdy. So I bought it, then kept on putting off building it until last night when I started it. It was a fairly easy build, although some of the instructions could have been a bit better, but it all worked out.

Anyway here's a video of it in action:

I'm so pleased that you bought and built this and that it sounds at least kind of like it's supposed to!

Glenn Case's latest "No Fake Friday" cover song/video is really great, it's of a song "Somebody Made For Me" by the very recently passed away songwriter Emitt Rhodes.

I hadn't heard of Emitt Rhodes before he passed and haven't gone to check out his music yet but I really like this song so I'll probably go listen to some more. Glenn's cover is very well done.
