Berkeley Social Scene - Secret Places Hidden Spaces

Post by Lunkhead »

Check out BSS's new album "Secret Places Hidden Spaces", out now for preview release on BandCamp, coming soon to streaming services. I think we had a great run in 2019 and these are some of the best songs we made that year, extensively polished up and remixed by me.

I decided to tackle this project at the very beginning of 2020. It turned out to be a lot of work, plus, some things got in the way, like, a pandemic, Nur Ein, wildfire smoke, buying a house and moving, our cat getting small cell lymphoma, etc. Anyway, I decided to put it out as is now before 2020 ran out, even though we're still getting it mastered. I'm really happy with these songs and how they sound.

Thank you! I was pretty happy with the mixes. My friend, who's done a lot of mixing in studios and for ads for Pandora, is taking a stab at mastering them, and so far that's sounding even better. Hopefully that will be done soon and we can get it out to streaming services. Strangely this is the first album I'll have done that for, so, I'm excited about that.

I love the album title came from the first song lyric. The artwork reflects it very nicely. And, most importantly, it sounds good from what little I've heard so far. I went ahead and grabbed it so I could listen to it all later.

Sam put a lot of work into the mixing of this. The songs are much more solid than in their original incarnations. Thanks, Sam!

Glennny painted the album cover! Thanks, Glen!

Can't wait till the mastering's done!

It's another BandCamp Friday, so if you had any interest in buying our album today would be a great day to do it.
