2021 JoCo Virtual Cruise - Updated - Saturday, April 10 - Wednesday, April 14, 2021 - Show ideas and videos

Post by BoffoYux »

Update - They moved it out a month to Saturday, April 10 - Wednesday, April 14, 2021. Still free to check out. I'm looking at doing at least one shadow panel and tying in a SpinTunes and SongFight Listening Party that avoids conflicting with the main shows. - Tommy G

FYI - Because the latest JoCo Cruise has been postponed, the groups usually involved in creating programming (and the shadow cruise) will be creating a virtual cruise, and they're not limiting it to past attendees. So, it's a free for all - er FREE FOR ALL to attend.

I'm thinking of creating a shadow event or two for it highlighting Songwriting challenges, and perhaps something similar to a short SFLive show with highlights of videos from SF, SpinTunes, and Nur Ein. It would be most likely prerecorded than a live zoom feed, but could be live assist. I'm looking for ideas and to gage who might want to participate - But it'll be happening in early March, so get your thinking caps on.

A worldwide pandemic may have prevented the physical sailing of JoCo Cruise 2021 from happening, but the spirit of JoCo Cruise SHALL NOT BE DENIED OR CONTAINED*. As such, we at The Home Office have uploaded our collective consciousness to the cloud**, and JoCo Cruise is going to ride the ones and zeros as JoCo Virtual Cruise 2021.

Saturday, March 6 – Wednesday, March 10, 2021
Official featured events each evening
Other official events, hangouts, Shadow Cruise events and gaming all day Saturday and Sunday
100% FREE for anyone and everyone to attend! (Well, you know…“attend.”)

Lots and lots and lots more information (including a more detailed schedule, details for submitting Shadow Cruise events, and much more) coming Soon™. (Early-ish Jan. 2021?) We know many of you will have questions, and we hope/expect our next “big info dump” will answer most of them. You're already on the JoCo Cruise 2022 Mailing List, so you'll get the latest info on our Virtual Cruise as soon as it becomes available. Info can also be found at the JoCo Virtual Cruise web page. (This email is, more or less, the current content of that page repackaged in email form.)

In the meantime, everyone please have a fantastic and safe holiday season!

**it’s surprisingly cold in here, and our consciousnesses are now vulnerable to solar flare activity. But there’s free pizza and snickerdoodles, so all told it’s been well worth abandoning our corporeal forms.

I submitted a panel request for the JoCo Virtual Cruise entitled

"Promptly Challenged: Writing Songs Inspired by a Challenge Prompt"

Panel discussion of Singer/Songwriters talking shop on creating music for internet competitions inspired by a Challenge or Prompt.
SpinTunes #17 will be the test case.

Scheduled to appear will be Micah, Ryan, Brian and Zoe Gray, and Al Morgan. 4 SpinTunes champions and a couple old fogeys from BYD.

Here's hoping we get Wednesday evening, April 14th, because it's the only night we all have time to do it!
