Floggin' the Login

Post by Rabid Garfunkel? »

This is a new one for me... the system says I'm logged in (according to the list at the bottom) yet I can't log out, or rather, in to spark up all the visited forii icons that tell me where I've been.

Kinda curious to see who the system says will be the poster of this... total 6th Day violation, yo.

Related problem: I can't access my old account anymore, and I'd rather use it. Is there a way my password can be reset? I hit 'forgot password', but it says the email address I give doesn't match the user name I enter (which shouldn't be true).

"old account"?

this forum has only existed for like four days... you shouldn't *have* an "old account"...

Using Opera (and IE) on two different machines, both running win98.

Cleared cookies, still requires double login, won't auto login, no "new" post icons. Have cleared cookies multiple times.

Sniff.

Ever so sad.

Wife, is it working for you at work?

interesting.. i have never had a login problem. but as far as cookies go.. over the past few days i would come to the forum and on the main page it would flag the topics that have new posts, but when i'd click on the threads, the subthreads would all be marked as read, even the ones with new posts. i haven't cleared my cookies or anything like that, but suddenly today it is working correctly. weird.

No... at work I don't have to log in, but my "view posts since last visit" doesn't work and no new post icons either, plus this wasn't working at home, even after you ate all my cookies... and I have to multiple log in at home :(

My thoughts @ BoardMaster:

I had a very similar problem on my msg board.

What is currently in the cookie domain field?
Mine finally worked for everybody then I switched it to ".tartpop.com"
yeah, DOT-tartpop-dot-com

with my cookie path set to "/board"
or in your case
"/forums"

Sniff.

we'll see if that has any effect.
