I can happily say what you've all been worrying, that yes, this film does have the song 'Caught by The Fuzz' by Supergrass in the soundtrack; you can all rest easy now. phew.
Before I say anything else; I'm not a big fan of zombie films. They're okay, but my world is not rocked by them and hence Shaun of the Dead was cool, but not mindblowing. I am a big fan of Point Break though and because of that I fucking loved Hot Fuzz. I think I am alone in rating higher than Shaun, but I hope not.
The main complaint I've heard of this is the overuse of bolt-on endings and that it didn't need to be so long. Personally I don't care and I was never bored or less than highly amused throughout. It was a return to the comedy overload uber-reference fest of Spaced (god how I want to mention some of them now, but I won't), too much for one viewing but I can't wait for the DVD extras. There's so much to love, especially the uber-casting where the likes of Martin Freeman, Steve Coogan and Bill Nighy can get thrown in for a single 5 minute scene.
Oh yeah, and Paddy Considine nearly made me piss myself with a single look. Not since Alec Guiness in the Lavender Hill Mob has someone been able to do that.
I could go on, but I'll give it an A
between this and Walk the Line (not to mention 2 Carpetburn gigs) I had a bloody good weekend

I didn't know we were missing a buddy cop movie in the UK till I saw this. The setup was perfect too! Not an amazing film as films go, but entertaining and more importantly, necessary. Way better than snakes on a plane. I wonder how it will go down abroad? Half the fun was spotting who everyone was - ooh! It's Joe Cornish!
That might not work quite so well in foreign lands.

Phil and I saw Hot Fuzz tonight and it was, as Tonamel said, one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. Hillariously funny and very well done. I'd say more, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone who has yet to see it! Everyone should. A+
