Even pornos can have a plot: R-rated edits of X-rated films

I was looking on YouTube early this year, and I couldn't help but notice how popular these were! They might not be as popular as videos of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, or random people twerking, but some have been seen several million times; I am talking about movies that were originally pornographic but have been edited down to an R rating (sometimes even PG-13, depending on the kind of language and themes in the non-sexual scenes). Between the two big non-pornographic video-sharing sites YouTube and Dailymotion, I have found R-rated, sex-scene-free (and pretty close to nudity-free) versions of such originally-adult films as Deep Throat, Pirates, Debbie Does Dallas, Star Wars XXX, No Way Out, Wasteland, Switchcraft, Sunsex Boulevard and Seinfeld a XXX Parody. To get a sample of what I mean, here are YouTube embeds of completely pornless versions of 2005's Pirates and 1972's Deep Throat. The Pirates R-rated cut has been viewed on YouTube several million times! Even the adult film industry knows how to create a great plot! ... Sometimes!

Funny how when you take all the sex out of a 61 minute porno, you end up with less than 27 minutes. Actually, I'm surprised that it's that long.

And that's Deep Throat; look how long Pirates is! It was a 130-minute porno, and we have a 61 minute film left! And it's even got high budget; I guess, being 2005 and being the giant smut-mogul Adam and Eve, they would try to make a Hollywood-level movie; and they did!

27/61 = 44% clean / 56% porn
61/130 = 47% clean /53% porn

There must be some sort of formula at work here...

The first few that I watched did seem like there was a formula, but look at this. Hustler's movie This Ain't Lady Gaga (a hilarious pop culture spoof) is 15% story and 85% porn!

As long as all the good porn is packed up in the first ten minutes, I don't imagine anyone but the angriest man will care ....

The thing with these movies is they didn't need to be pornos; they just added sex because apparently explicit sex (and the adult industry) sells. But without that stuff, they're plain, R-rated movies that don't need sex.

Even Debbie Does Dallas has been softcorified to the point of being pornless. The reason it is not embedded is because it is a link to Dailymotion, not YouTube, and I don't think the forum software has a way of embedding Dailymotion. I don't even watch porn, and last year at some point, I got around to seeing this movie in the R-rated cut linked here.
