For day 10 I'm just going to use my coverfight song. What with having spent all day working on it anyway.

This year I finally got around to adding a submission form to make it a lot easier for both submitters and myself. https://novembeat.com/submit

It looks like folks just upload bandcamp album sites. Am I understanding that you don't upload a beat a day or anything like that?
Ken's Super Duper Band 'n Stuff - Berkeley Social Scene - Tiny Robots - Seamus Collective - Semolina Pilchards - Cutie Pies - Explino! - Bravo Bros. - 2 from 14 - and more!

i would just like to remind everyone that Ken eats kittens - blue lang

Yeah, you can post a link to a bunch of things (bandcamp, SoundCloud, a YouTube playlist, etc) but I don’t want to get in the business of hosting stuff myself.

I see that you submitted that track to the Novembeat site. Thanks, it's added. However, the intention is that you should submit a playlist, so that you can add more songs as the month goes on (and so I don't have to deal with a bunch of separate submissions). Could you put the track into a playlist and submit that?

Thanks!

Good idea. Done!

I get an error when I submit, btw - it still seems to work fine, but I end up on an error page saying:

Code: Select all

It worked fine in testing but of course the day people start using it all of the bugs show up. Isn't that always the way?

Anyway I think all the major egregious issues are fixed. There's another fun weird one where sometimes the entry shows up twice and I know exactly what's happening but testing fixes is difficult. Yay for race conditions. It should be rare but of course that's the one that everyone ends up managing to trigger today and tell me about separately. Go figure.

Sorry, that was an overly snarky joke about how whenever someone submits an instrumental to Song Fight people are all like "It's SONG fight not MUSIC fight."

Novembeat welcomes all forms of musical exploration, lyrical or otherwise. Which is to say, you don't have to remember how to write lyrics for Novembeat. But you can if you want to.

No worries. I guess I'm in more of a NaSoAlMo mindset this month. I'm trying to work on music every day but I think I'll try to claw it together into something vaguely cohesive at the end of the month rather than sharing them all as I go.

I should post my two most recent videos and my not-yet-video-enhanced tracks.

Day 4:

day 5:

https://sockpuppet.us/track/niche-zero

Day 6:

https://sockpuppet.us/track/comandante-c40

Day 7:

Meanwhile, I had a bit of an issue so I'm not sure if I'm going to feel up to making more lo-fi coffee grinder beats in the near future.
