....and submitted! With HUGE thanks to Vom, who is the absolute best and saved my bacon on this one by making me a new drum track yesterday after I was complaining about how I couldn't get it right and nothing was working with my cover and I kept recording and throwing things away. The drums made it all come together and I re-recorded everything else yesterday and today. Hope my recipient enjoys it.

Was just thinking about Songfight stuff and then I was like "Wasn't there a Gift of Music going on? What happened to that?" And then I remembered that the deadline got extended to January 14 and I then I remembered that today was January 15 and then I remembered that I very much have not sent something in.

Going to try for it this weekend. Sorry everyone, especially my giftee.

My wife took the kids out of the house for a few hours. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you don't have a 1- and 4-year-old demanding your constant attention!

TOTALLY get it. I get 90% of my recording done immediately after mine (baby, 2, 6) go to bed. Minus the drums. That usually comes when the 2 year old is stuck in his high chair and poking slowly at his food while watching Blippi or Songs for Littles or something. Though with the newborn I'm probably gonna have to start doing slowcore or something...

Having a hobby with rigorous timelines helps keep me grounded amidst the kiddie chaos! Plus writin' tunes doesn't involve leaving the house.

Thanks for hosting!

Would it be possible to get the song titles in the filenames? That would make organizing them a lot easier in my collection. I know wix is pretty limited in what they allow, though, so maybe a zip file of everything when everyone's in would work too.

oh wow this version of Basket Case is amazing. A 6-minute slow jam is definitely not what I expected and I am really into it.

Awesome! Yeah that works a lot better than Wix's hash-based file naming. Thank you so much!

I never saw myself making a six plus minute version of Basket Case, but I’m glad you like it! It was really enjoyable to make. :)

I also made an album cover...
