You don't post photos of it, you explain the torture your soul is going through because of some punk boyfriend. The pain. Pain!fluffy wrote:God, I feel like I've stumbled into Livejournal. I probably shouldn't admit that I have a Livejournal... I'm funny on it though, not angsty.
Songfighter since back in the day.

Just FYI, 1gb per month is far more than you'll probably need for hosting your songs at this point.
My site, for example, (johnorama.com) doesn't usually push even that much data per month. Nor do the sites of several other legendary songfighters I know of.
So if you get 1gb per month, it will do for your songs. Don't think it'll do for any *other* files you put up. *cough*porn*cough* *cough*warez*cough*
Also, I dunno if those free sites have daily limits, and most of them don't allow deep linking.
But for crying out freaking loud, hosting is soooooo cheeeeeeeeap. I mean, come on. A five-second search on Google shows me this hosting plan:
http://doorhost.net/bronze.html
100mb of space (enough to host 30 songs)
8GB data transfer (more than enough for your needs, trust me)
<h1>$11 per freaking <b>YEAR</b></h1>
That's a trip to the movies, with popcorn if you're in the midwest. Or a trip and a half to McDonalds. If you won't spend 11 bucks to host your music so people can hear it without jumping through hopps, then I have to conclude that you just don't give a shit about your music. Even if $11 is a hardship for you, it's your MUSIC you cheap little twit. SCRAPE UP THE CASH. HIT UP YOUR MOM. GET AN ADVANCE ON YOUR ALLOWANCE. SELL SOME FUCKING BLOOD.

Get a bank account. Get a check/debit card. Most of them can be used just like a Visa. Give the $20 you got from the blood bank to a friend/your mom and have them use their credit card. Why must I come up with all these solutions? Crimeny.Leaf wrote:What if he doesn't have a credit card? Do these firms accept checks? Money orders?

American institutions don't take Canadian bank accounts!! Believe me, I've tried! Anyway, I was just trying to cut Mr. June off at the pass...
Now , Juney is an american, so he has no excuse... I'm checking into web space through my cable internet provider right now...on hold listening to Little drummer boy, how apt...
for that matter, all internet providers supply SOME space... can't you use that June?

Yeah, my site uses about 4GB/month total, but only around 2 of that is for music. Most of that is just because I have a high-ranking page for "free song downloads" and so a lot of people just leech everything I've done without checking to see if it sucks first.jb wrote:Just FYI, 1gb per month is far more than you'll probably need for hosting your songs at this point.
(Incidentally, my two top songs for November were Been To China and Chucky (He's So Gay). China was linked from a bunch of weblogs for some reason and used .3GB on its own. Dunno what's up with Chucky.)
ok well after christmas... if i get money again... i'll work up on gettin' some web-space... sorry for the inconvenience... i don't mean any offense by it...
have a little money now i made off doin' someones yard... but i have to get some gifts with it... (within' the next few days... sucks) O_o... but yea...
i'll work on gettin' more...
right now gettin' a job is a pain in the ass... every place takes one look at me and hires someone else... sucky thing about nc... if i want a job i have to shave my head... i'm gonna probably try to get into construction once the year is up... (not that y'all care to know...) anyways tata

Does someone here need a songhole account?
I haven't worked out the details yet, but there is space left on this server.
The plan was to rescue those accounts that depended on songhole for their website or somesongs stuff, and then see where to go from there.
Phase I is pretty much under control, so if you have some songs you need hosted, let me know, and I will see what I can do.
Phase II will probably consist of song hosting only, no new websites.

check out http://www.15megsoffame.com ... A friend turned me onto it, and it seems to be a good place to get feedback, with a ratings system and all, if you can drive people to your corner of their site...

This isn't necessarily about a new song as much as it is exciting news for the Half Racks. This seemed like the right thread for it.
According to the new issue of <a href="http://www.inlander.com" target="_blank">The Inlander</a>, over 100 bands tried out for the Quest for the Best band Contest at <a href="http://www.bigeasyconcerts.com" target="_blank">The Big Easy</a>. Well, 15 bands made it, and The Half Racks made it! That's right, we will be playing in the 1,500 seat capacity venue on Thursday, January 20th. Doors open at 7:30 PM. We were given 200 tickets to give to fans. We are stoked, to say the least.
ROCK!

So, I'm two hours from Boise right now, and Moscow's two hours from Spokane, and Boise's five hours from Moscow... with my luck, the finals will be after I've moved to Moscow.GlennCase wrote:You can catch us at the Boise Big Easy location if we make it to the Finals

I'd make it a point to attend if it's before then, though.

Regarding last night's show:
We did not win. We did kick ass. The crowd loved us. I broke a string, but continued playing on the second to last song. My fingernail got cut on a guitar string and was bleeding by the end of the set. We got video footage. My guitar was out of tune for a while, and I didn't notice until I was watching the video footage, so that part sucked. The amount of applause we we were getting after each song was mind-blowing. Even without a victory, it feels like a success.
