Hah, this is totally off topic, but the first time I attempted to cover a song by another artist, it was a song called "Penguins" by the Jazz Butcher (and it was seriously awful, it was also the first time I recorded myself singing and let anyone hear it, long before I joined SF), and he reviewed the whole tribute album. Here's his review for my song:anti-m wrote:Actually, this might make an interesting "optional challenge" to the GOM -- Inform the original artist (if he / she is still around) of your cover, and attempt to get a review.
I baffle many correspondents! Now this here is mental. Bringing the sensibility of the Von Daemmerung Brothers to the Great Antarctic Twelve-Bar, Heuristics Inc. baffle your correspondent with flappy drums and far-off, grumbly singing. At first I couldn't see the virtue in this - now I'm not so sure. The penguin sample at the end may have had something to do with that. Skin up..
