Hey gals and gobs! I've got several Purple Reign tunes written, but there's no way I'm going to be able to complete all of these solo, so if you wanna participate in any of the below, PM right away and I'll send ya demos/lyrics/whathaveya.

Lyrics Only:
I Feel For You (the chorus is "people of earth, I feel for you")

Song I'm doing with someone already:
Bambi - This is gunna sound great!

Songs that have music and lyrics:
Still Waiting (melody tune, probably will work good for me solo)
It's Gonna Be Lonely (has an odd timing, so I could really use some help; could be quite a rockin' tune)
Sexy Dancer (has a nice guitar groove, could really use a full band on this one)
When We're Dancing Close and Slow (almost like a musical with back and forth lyrics between a man and woman; I can do the falsetto OR it'd be great to get a REAL woman doing the vocals here; anyone who wants to do a rock musical might have fun arranging this)
With You (kind of has a driving groove to it; again, could use a band or at least a drummer)

Then I have guitar only (no lyrics or melody) available for one of the other two songs that's got a Stonesish country distorted guitar sound. I could send that to someone to have it re-worked into a complete tune or whathaveya. While it could be "I Wanna Be Your Lover", it seems more fitting for "Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?".

...which also means I can still sing for "I Wanna Be Your Lover" if someone wants me for it. :)

Congratulations to the winners!

Don't forget that we have new titles to work with.

"I Wanna Be Your Lover"
"Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?"
"Sexy Dancer"
"When We're Dancing Close And Slow"
"With You"
"Bambi"
"Still Waiting"
"I Feel For You"
"It's Gonna Be Lonely"

We haven't received ANY song submissions yet this month, but we're going to take that as a good sign that people are taking extra time to submit quality material.

ROCK!

Congrats to all! Most of the ones I voted for won. I can't believe I pulled two of these, but I do realize those were small competitions that were essentially one on one. If anyone wants to work with me on the two songs I won with so we can improve them for Purple Reign (and if Glenn/Niveous would allow "upgrading" tracks), I'd be down with that. Otherwise, still got a lot of work to do for "Prince".

For the curious: We have received one entry for "Bambi" thus far.

That gives us a grand total of one entry for the month to date.

ROCK!

I have one coming. But I'll be pushing it to the last minute. My FireBox took a crap, so all recording is on hold until it's fixed, hopefully tomorrow.

I wrote a bunch of songs last time, and I got yelled at, and my songs were dismissed just because there were a lot of them.

My idea of making entire parallel albums flew like a lead zeppelin.

Obviously, you want to make this look like a success. I imagine you also don't want your thing flooded with garbage (unless you buy into Timmy's philosophy). I'm trying to find a balance now.

Also, Prince titles are hard for a lot of us, I think. It took a lot of effort on my behalf just to turn a given title into an idea I could work with.

I don't want to be a poor sport, but I've got a bit of a sour taste in my mouth after the last round. I'm not going to do so much work if it's not going to be acknowledged.

I will be participating, but the album idea is slain. I've got a collab brewing, but I'm waiting to hear back about it. You'll probably get a couple of other things from various projects of mine.

I've got demos for:
I'm Still Waiting
It's Gonna Be Lonely
Sexy Dancer
When We're Dancing Close And Slow
With You

Lyrics for:
I Feel For You

And nothing for:
I Wanna Be Your Lover
Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?

So, if anyone wants to do a song that maybe no-one-else is doing, do the last two. Annnnnd, if anyone wants my lyrics for "I Feel For You", PM me. I'll be happy to donate, but if I don't hear from anyone, I'll do something.

This might be my last "complete" Prince album. it's too much!

Well, interestingly, the collab I'm doing is for WYWTMSB, and the only other title I'm definitely doing is I Wanna Be Your Lover. So there's that.

Go ahead and send me those lyrics, Phil, as I don't have any lyrical ideas so far for that title, and I'll let you know within a short time if I like them.

By the way, Dirty Mind only has eight songs. Maybe I haven't given up my idea entirely. Let me know what you think about maybe doing an album between the two of us, if January isn't insanely busy.

Have a solo entry, a collab, and a Primitive Screwheads entry in the works for three of the titles. They're a-comin', Glenn.

I have one entry which I'm about to send, I had no time what so ever to do anything this month, hey it's christmas y'all :D but I had twenty minutes to play this evening, so expect something ridiculous and not at all well thought out, let the critisism commence (e.g. why bother sending something that sucks... etc. - I'm rather good at sending stuff that sucks, so why blot my copybook!)

This is still a great idea so don't give up hope Niv and Glenn!

Have to say, if the deadline is 31st December, I don't know why we need the posts to remind us who has submitted before the deadline. Patience, guys. If you have nothing better to do over the holiday period, you can always come round mine and help me tidy. I'll even give you a peach schnapps for your troubles :)

Just waitin for Glenn (A-HEM!!!) to call me...maybe he lost my number???

PS. It's worth it to call Glenn just because of his songs that play when his phone rings. Sometimes I'm all "I wish you didn't answer, I like that song."

Okay, SEVEN songs entered, one of which is w/ a secret collaboration, and another of which is a duet with myself (I like to call it the "musical" song). There will be an 8th submitted by Lord of Oats (I just wrote the lyrics), a 9th submitted by BLT (doing his lyrics), and 10th submitted by J$ (doing his lyrics/melody), so that means 4 of the entries I'm involved in are collaborative in one way or another! It was a lot of fun and I hope ya'll enjoy what we've done. Not sure I'll be able to write all the songs next month... unless it is done AAD style. Hmmmm....

Can't wait to hear everyone's material!

We're about 6 hours away from round two if all goes well.
