Hopefully, the US will be home from work, and the UK will be up a tad late. Any takers? Let me know here!

Bugger! Should have waited an hour.
Where do the finished songs go?
Edit: Email. Got it. Sending.

Oh, this is weird. By the time I quoted your post, it had been edited. Hmm.
You want to give the other guys another hour to do songs, or should I just put ours up?

Maybe some votes? Anyone?
It seems kind of pointless for Chris and I to vote.
Maybe Andrew, Phil, Jim, or anyone else from the Frenzy crew has something to say about our songs? Of course, I haven't even listened to any of the Frenzies that I didn't participate in quite yet...but the voting period is a little more limited here, eh?

It looks as though the voting is over. Am I wrong? If you'll extend it, I'll place a vote.
Lord of Oats - Interesting experiment on the music. What are you using that makes that sound? Still several spots in the vocals where they don't hit the intended notes. The "solos" are pretty cool. Overall, reminds me of a cross between the '80s and a C-side Limp Bizkit song. 5/10
Spinlock - Arrrr! Ever amazed here about what can be done in 55 minutes! Are you writing songs for Spongebob Squarepants? Strange, but effective. 7/10
And the winner is... Spinlock!

Spinlock - Yarrr. I found myself wanting this one to take off and become a full-on foot-stomping frenzy. Still, it's a clever piece, and well done. Vote!
Lord Of Oats - Very Depeche Mode. Would like to hear this with bass and drums. Predictable throughout; when you've got a song with one repeating chord progression like that, a song needs to be dynamic in other ways to keep the listener's interest. This one does have some different lines as it goes along, and the lyric change at the end is good, but it could use some more drastic changes as it goes along, I think. Upon second listen, this one might work well as a slow and steady ramp upward toward chaos, starting with that one synth foundation line, and adding another instrument every 8 bars or so, until it reaches a breaking point and drops back to that one line to coincide with that lyric change. Something like that, maybe, I dunno.
Both of these pieces make me wish I had the separate tracks at my disposal so I could timker and remix. Sadly, even if I did have 'em, there's no time these days. But what fun! Nice job, fellas. Spin for the win.

I guess I'll review this cheap tuesday ripoff of my brilliant frenzies.
Spinlock - You actually have a pretty solid voice - for a while there I doubted the strength of it, but I have faith in it now. Solid song - if a bit short and a fairly predictable structure. Possible vote.
Lord of Oats - I found myself skipping through really early on. I like your guitar-driven rock (Message for You was rad) better than your experimental stuff. "There's no rest for the wicked' is a really good line though. This feels lacking in dynamics. Not bad on a second listen - I guess the mood captures the title fairly well.
Vote goes to Spin.

Hey, thanks, everybody! Sometimes, it's fun to have your ass served to you on a platter!
Nice job, Spinlock. I'd have voted, but I don't need to make your victory look any more dramatic. Pirate rock is great. But maybe this should have been more rock. The only thing I really want is a more solid beat. This piece is pushing the border with ambient music. But then so is mine. Both of these need some drums or something. I would have liked more time to develop mine, but then, I also wanted to try out doing a guy and synthesizer piece. It's got a certain charm to it, but it's not surprising that it didn't get any votes. 'Appropriate to the title' is a whole different animal than 'good'. The creation of good songs is the purpose of these exercises, as I see it. And these always feel like they need revision.
I don't think I've written one song for any of these competitions that has lyrics that I'm comfortable enough with to want to sing in public. It's so hard to bring everything together. I really want a band to divide the workload with, so I can concentrate on a few things and make them good, instead of a bunch of average musical components hanging out, with maybe some good ones once in a while. That and I have very social tendencies, and am socially underexposed. I don't really know anything about being in a band, though, what the relationships are like, the interpersonal dynamics involved. I don't know anything about anything. I feel so weird. I don't like it. I need a paradigm-shift.
