Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
Crap. You're right, Albatross. By this time last year, I had already closed the song selection process.
You must say that you are in this year's GOM and choose your 4 songs by Nov 4th.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
Ok -- I'll stop agonizing over my choices. I should really pick easier-to-find stuff, but I'm having inspiration-failure.
"Subspace Biographies" -- Robert Pollard
"Strike it Noel" -- Big Star
"Red House" -- Shudder to Think
"Elevate me Later" -- Pavement
I'll do what I can to find these on teh net.
EDIT: Here they are. Don't rat me out, kids.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
I've had three of my songs in mind for a while now, but I'm going to force myself to come up with a fourth choice.
For what it's worth, I imagined what all of these songs would sound like if they were covered by Octothorpe, and I loved how they sounded in my mind.
Thompson Twins - We Are Detective
Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me
Tone Loc - Funky Cold Medina
Barnes & Barnes - Love Tap
ROCK!

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
No #, me, but for the record I would love to tackle either of these, or maybe as some kind of weird medley / mash-up ...
I might even throw in a little 'Amityville (House On The Hill)' to totally wrock.

Re: The 6th Annual Gift of Music
That song got so wedged into my cranium that I couldn't stop singing it yesterday. So I had to load on my MP3 player this morning. I've also looked up more Can. Thanks for the introduction.glennny wrote:Yeah there's nothing better than a Japanese guy (Damo Suzuki) in a German krautrock band (Can) singing in English.a turtle have a short a'regs, not for de walking.
I'm starting on the music for this weeks title in a few minutes and something tells me that it will be influentially propelled by Can's infectious grooves, lol.

One of last week's Shoelace Soups sounded just like this, but at the time of reviews I couldn't pull the name out of my brain. Weird.bz£ wrote:This was on my list last year. It didn't get picked though, so that's okay. Maybe this time it will!GlennCase wrote:Rockwell - Somebody's Watching Me
