Frenzy Revival???

Post by Reist »

After all this Nur Eining, I'm pumped for some more sidefights. If I increased the length of frenzies, would anybody be down? I've been thinking of starting a new website and it would be one of the main attractions, as opposed to remaining on an obscure forum on radnoise.

I just heard about this awesome place... Song Fight!...
About once a week, give or take, they post a title on the website, and you write a song based on that title.
Then people listen to them all and vote for their favorites! Sounds like fun, I'm gonna go check it out...

When I say extending the length, I don't mean making it a week long. More like two and a half hours or something.

Something between one and two hours, with about 48 hours advance notice, would be just about ideal for me. By all means! :)

Sounds good, my average time to make a song is about an hour or two anyway. :P
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

Okay, now I'm in the process of creating a new website. I just purchased ummband.com (for my new band name umm...) and some hosting services that absolutely destroy the host I was with for radnoise.

Once I get that running, I'll bust out frenzy.ummband.com and start a phpbb forum there just for frenzies! And I won't clutter it up with forums like tv and movies and stuff. I tried that last time and nobody used them, haha.

I also enjoyed them... even if I only ever made one song out of any of them... 2-2:30 hours would be my ideal... I know you guys always made pretty good stuff in the 55-65 mins but I couldn't ever do anything worthwhile in that time...

I really enjoy skirmishes when I can do them. I think they should be 2 hours or under - there should be a bit of franticness.

also, I vote we dont have to also create cover art.

But it's your website - just my two cents froma guy who'd like to participate.

Those two cents are fine, man. I agree that approx two hours should be the max, and the cover art was a bit of a joke and a waste of time. Anybody else got some advice to chip in before I set this up?

I'll give it a go, minus the art. Weekends would be preferred for me, nowadays.

Actually, if you're setting up the website anyway, an e-mail notification list shouldn't be difficult to create.

I assume otherwise, you'll simply announce an upcoming Frenzy here.

I guess I could set up an email notification list, but I've never tried something like that before.

2 hours sounds about right, as does no cover art. The only other thing is timing, if you can time it so that us Europeans can join in too that would be great.

Not sure. Spinlock hasn't really been around here lately, has he? I'm not sure how to contact him.

I would say for a 2 hour fight it would be good if it was done by 1am gmt at the latest. That would mean starting around 3pm pdt or 6pm edt if my timezone calculations are right. Or some fenzies early, some late would be cool.
