Caravan Ray wrote: Can I suggest that everyone gives 3 titles. Randomise and distribute - everyone will get titles from a few people - maybe even get one of their own back. And everyone gets 3 to choose from - like old skool SF! That way no one is stuck with just "Circle of Titties"

So I'd randomize all the people/titles and you'd end up with three from different people? I.e. one from me, one from Niveous, and one from irwin? That would be a pain in the ass to randomize, but I'm not fundamentally opposed. You wouldn't get one of your own back, because that would mean there would be potential for a title submitter to not receive a song for one of their titles.

What does everyone else think?

I'm split. I like the idea of choice, but also being 'forced' to use the one that you're given. I guess that I'm no help, but either way. Hmm. But perhaps you'd (Mike) just like to make it easier on yourself?

It'll be a bit more work, sure, but don't let that stop anybody from evaluating the multi-title suggestion on its own merits. ;-)

Make it two titles each if you want. It is only matter of drawing a few extra little pieces of paper out of a hat.

Not sure how I'll manage to do it, but I'm in. Song might end up slightly less polished this time.

I'll be eyeing this thread, to see whether we need to come up with multiple titties or not.

OK, if nobody can agree on multiple tiltles, here's the deal - submit multiple titles IF YOU WANT. I will match up the multi-title people with each other.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but if we did multiple titles, wouldn't there be a good chance that some people would have none of their titles used?

That's my main objection, and the primary reason I never listened to C-Ray when I was the one running this fight. That's my vote, but this ain't my show anymore, so however Mike chooses to run it will be fine with me.

There would always be a 1:1 mapping. Someone will get one of your title(s) no matter what.

Sounds like the prevailing thought is that multiple titles is confusing, though. Since there's no real consensus and a lot of hemming and hawing, and the due date for submitting titles is only a couple days away, let's just stick with the single title for this year. Next year we can do a multi-titty-circle.

Just a gentle reminder that titles are technically due to me tonight (I said "by 3/7") but I'll accept them anytime up until 0700 on Friday March 8th. My goal is to get the titles out to everyone on Friday so you have 4 total weekends to work on your songs.

Cheers,
Mike Lamb

Time's tickin, y'all. I have 8 entries, and that's fewer than people who said "in." I am closing the entries TODAY, Friday March 8th at 0700 PDT.

Hey, you still need to finish the last title you got! :P

(No, I'm totally not still bitter about being the only stiffee in my own contest last time around...)

I can't find it now. It's actually done, just terribly as I remember. I feel that giving it to you now would be anticlimactic.
....I prefer climatic. :P

just cross your fingers that you don't get me again.
edit: or maybe Mike needs to give me 2 titles. 1 from you, heh

Lots of entries between last night and this morning, cool! I think we're up to 13 or something. In time-honored tradition, and because I am not going to be able to get sorting and randomizing today like I'd hoped (stupid !@# work), I'll extend the title submission deadline to 09:59AM tomorrow, Saturday, March 9th. I'll try my best to get the titles sent out tomorrow afternoon.

Ah, yes, the traditional deadline creep.

Although I think I've usually slid the deadline back for the songs, but not the titles. Heh.
