Everything about me

Post by HeuristicsInc »

So I decided that I should figure out what my best songs are (not just SongFight, but anywhere). So I started collecting all of the song titles I've ever participated in:
-solo songs
-collaborations
-remixes of other people's songs
-other people's remixes of me
-other people's covers of me
-songs where i contributed something, e.g. lyrics

I eliminated entire live sets from consideration... but maybe I'll have to re-add the separate songs back in.

I think I was inspired by Niveous's amazing SongFight top songs ranking lists. I put all of the above songs into a Google Docs spreadsheet and now I'm listening to all of these songs and rating them 1-10. At the end I am wondering if I can make a "favorite songs I'm involved in" CD. Has anybody else done this? How many songs have you been involved in?

My total is (without all of the live versions, only the ones I put on CD): 426. I'm actually pretty surprised at how many songs I'd forgotten about.

Well if we're talking anywhere, that's a lot.

252 in the Song Fight/ Nur Ein univesre.
87 in the FAWM universe subtract 7 for crossover FAMW & Song Fight songs.
375 Dust Pipe songs
35 Cavedweller songs

so there's about 742 that made it to CD.

That's awesome that I inspired you.

I just started compiling songs from the 10 years that I've been performing as Niveous. I'll be putting a compilation of my favorites on my website in the very near future.

FYI you can make playlists of songs from the Song Fight! archive on the Jukebox now, have I mentioned that too many times yet? :P

Wow, you released everything you did at SongFight on CD? Nowhere near all of mine are on CD.
So Niv, you are doing the same thing! That's cool.

depends on what you mean by released on CD.
I use the term loosely, like I've burned these songs on CD for family and friends and mostly other band members.
no real CD release party or anything.
Seemed like a good criteria as opposed to all the songs that are in pieces or discarded for lack of quality (I can hear you all laughing).

I didn't put it up on my website yet but I did make that compilation, including 40 of my faves (and I still left off a bunch). I feel very fortunate to have gotten to work with so many amazing musicians. Just to be able to look back at the last decade and say, I made songs I enjoy, made a ton of great friends, performed in several different states... I'm overwhelmed. Thanks to everyone.
