Done.

I'm still trying to figure out what treatment I want to do for my assignment. I'm thinking of updating the lyrics on one.

Allow me to be the first to complain about the arbitrary deadline. My workstation got buried over the holidays, and I just managed to dig it out this afternoon. Please consult the official Song Fight Excuse List and pick your favorite excuse for why I can't finish in the next few days.

In other words, can I sweet talk the sidefightmaster into moving the deadline to next Sunday?

I would be okay with that, only because I had a leak start in the drain above my home studio and I have a plumber coming out on Monday to resolve it. Thoughts? Feelings? Excuses?

music is done. still working on vocals. Looks like I'll need the weekend yo use the vocalist I want. If the deadline sticks I can make something work, but if it gets pushed back that'd be great!

There will be a deadline extension. It is tradition. :)

A lack of a deadline extension would be one of the signs of the forthcoming apocalypse!

I, however, am done. So sending it in shortly, and am available if anyone needs some help / wants their song lessened by my madcap "skillz"...

This is great news! I was able to verify the leak above my studio area is now fixed (I was actually able to do it myself and save money I can use towards new equipment - yay!) and I can finally power things on without fear of spark. As a result, I'll be tackling this soon...and thank you.

As usual, we're working on tracks, but the last one I got back was 44.0 megs of silence from Al. So an extension isn't a bad thing on our end.

It pains me to say it, but I will take advantage of an extension. I'm riiiight there and could finish on time, although it'd be sloppier than usual. So, uh, thanks!

Has there been an official extension made? I am taking an unofficial one due to aforementioned plumbing issues (which actually resurfaced but I believe are, after several showers, taken care of). I'm hooking things up as we speak and will expedite my efforts but I am definitely late for the original deadline and I apologize to my giftee. I'll try to make it up by providing something super cool.

Consider this the official extension. Due 1/26/15.

Excellent. Thank you. I just realized my post made it seem that I was going to submit something initially but NOW I would be giving them something cool.

I sent mine in last night. I might improve the mix and send in another mix before the 26th. There's a lot going on though, might have to live with what I submitted, I liked the mix today during my commute, but it can always be better.

I went to see my doctor to find out why I've been coughing and having trouble breathing, and he said I have bronchitis, rhinitis, and maybe sinusitis, and I got antibiotics. He says it could take up to 3 weeks for the coughing to get better. Hopefully I can get vocals done by the new deadline :)

Sorry to hear it, Bill! The other half has just recovered from a bout of Sinusitis and it's the worst he's ever felt. Hope you feel better, soon. If I can help in any way, just bung me a message.

Sorry to hear that. If you need help with a vocal, drop me a line. I'd be happy to help. Montserrat rides again?

I just finished my cover of Eels' "Novocaine for the Soul" which I did, in addition to my "official" GOM, for Zack Facco, who was already past the deadline when he submitted his selections. I figured I'd just post it here for those of you who are interested in it.

Really impressed with your version! It's spot on. Thanks for doing it. I really love that song, but I feel like it's been to a large degree "lost" over the years. Still haven't even started my cover, but no real surprise there. I was born early, but I've been behind schedule ever since.

Here's my unofficial submission for GOM. Picked a song from Nick Soma's requests who did an excellent version of my request (Novocaine for the Soul by the Eels). This was a lot of fun to do. I hadn't really listened to Tim Hardin before, but now I really want to. This is a great song and I really love his voice! What an unfortunate story though :-(
