Wow, its taken me over 6 years of home recording, and playing around here in songfight, before coming across Mixerman, (aka Eric Sarafin), and his enlighten of a book known as
zen and the art of mixing. highly recommended.

check out the interview he did this year... good stuff, people here at songfight will appreciate.

I found I didn't get much out of the Art Of Mixing, but the daily adventures was the first book I've paid money for and ordered in a panic with express shipping in a long time.

Ah, yes, the Mixerman diaries. Did word ever get out about who the band was, or if it was for sure even a real band? Either way, great stuff, and probably all true in the sense of "this happened to me at least once..."

in addition to the book, Mixerman runs a pretty good radio talk show, with a panel of professionals in the music industry, and talk about all kinds of cool stuff.

take a listen,

Glad to see you guys talking about Eric's book, which is indeed full of pithy advice to be used or ignored (at your own eventual peril). I'm a moderator-at-large over at The Womb Forums.

Has anyone in these parts ever participated in CAPE over there? (I know at least one of you Song Fight!ers has because it was at my invitation...) Those of you who haven't may find it an interesting process and a way to network with a different crowd of musicians and engineers.
