Russian Doll (on Netflix)

We watched this show the week before last. It was great! Well made all around. I have to admit that I'm getting a little sick of folks rehashing the Groundhog Day time loop premise. This one gets a pass for turning out to be pretty charming and weird and solid. I liked the turn of events in the last few episodes. It'll be interesting to see where they take things if they make another season.

I really loved it! I'm a total sucker for time-loop stuff and this is up there with the best. Good to see a Netflix series going for a pretty concise running time for once, this felt refreshingly free of filler to me. Not sure where they'll go with a second season if they do make one - I read somewhere that it was pitched as a three-season thing, which piqued my interest, although I'd be happy for it to be a really great self-contained eight-part gem to be honest (although I'd absolutely love to see more from this creative team either way).
