Anyone else watching this show? It's pretty amazing, in so many ways.

Octavio Coleman, Esq. introduces the viewer to Peter, an employee for a music streaming service leading a boring, unsatisfying life.

Love it. It is weird and slow and beautiful. I haven't been watching it as much as I'd like because it actually requires attention.

His job isn't particularly relevant to the show, except it serves as a minor plot point for one of the things, and there's a mild criticism of algorithmic recommendation engines.

And yeah, it's on AMC. Full season is currently available on the app if you have a cable subscription. It also airs immediately after Better Call Saul.

Incidentally, the show is based on a real ARG that took place around San Francisco many years ago, or at least based on a documentary that was made about it. I vaguely recall seeing the Jejune Institute fliers pasted around SoMa but I never thought to actually call the number.

My comment was a joke. I just thought the similarity there was funny. I thought about including a tongue-sticking-out emoji but didn't. Oops!

Which happens first: me starting to recognize when you're joking, or you making your jokes funny?

If you didn't even recognize it was a joke, how could you possibly know if it was a funny joke or not?!

Well I thought I had a theory about what was going on but then the last minute of this week's episode completely blew that away. I was just about to post the Very Clever idea I had, too, and then they just had to go and mess it up.

This show is so good.

I found the ending a bit disappointing. I totally understood what they were going for and I think I appreciated it at a meta level but it felt very unsatisfying, all the same. But maybe that was the point too?

Finally watching this and really enjoying it.

This did not end where I though it would. I almost wish I had only seen the first four episodes, but it certainly was a journey where I often did not know where I was. I'm glad I made it through.

FWIW, the ending makes a lot more sense if you read up on the real life stuff that Jason Segel went through before he wrote the show. I still wish it had a more satisfying ending for the characters themselves though.

I did that after the final episode. It did help to explain a lot. I agree that I wish it was more about the characters than the creator. I'm a pretty big fan of Jason Segel's work on Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Muppets so I hope this is another success he can use to make more things.
