NEW THUNDERCATS!

Post by BBABM »

I don't know if anyone else grew up with thundercats like I did. I'm stoked.

We used to watch this when we were kids. I would pretend to be Cheetara. I would chase my brother Lion-O around the house. We'd throw stuff at each other. Eventually we'd have to do chores and stuff. Panthro's music was the best.
Thundercats, ho.

Looks good, or at least has serious possibilities. So long as it's better than the really horrid GI JOE : Renegades. (That's the HUB, though, apparently).

I'm excited to see what they do. So far with recent 80's remakes: I hate GI Joe Renegades, Transformers Prime is slightly better, and I dig Voltron Force (especially since the original Voltron doesn't hold up in the slightest).

I'm a big Thundercats fan. I have a Lion O, Panthro, Mumm-Ra, Slythe, Snarf and Snowman of Hook Mountain (big props for those who remember Snowman. I went out of my way to add him to my collection) on my bookshelf along with my old He-Man figures.

Yeah, so basically they've reimagined cheap-ass 80s toy-selling cartoons as cheap-ass 2010s toy-selling anime, so I can't say there's really anything all that different about it, given the context.

But hey, now we'll have a whole new generation of kids getting their first boners over Cheetara and/or Lion-O, so yay for that.

(Seriously though this looks pretty great.)

Basically...

I was at the age where I had all the toys, and watched all the shows. I recently rewatched it, and was horrified by how awful it was. I don't have high expectations for awesome story lines or epic animation... But I may buy some action figures.
