Carnivale

Post by Bjam »

Anyone else watch this? It's on HBO. Very freakyweird, but... whoa. I only caught the second half of this season, but it's seriously freaky cool. And the finale tonight was awesome.

Please tell me someone else watches this?

Hahaha, I watch this Bjam. And yes, I love it too. We used to get basic cable, but the cable guy came to fix one of the channels around christmas time, and he gave us HBO for free. I dooo indeed love Carnivale.

Watched both seasons on DVD recently, really excellent show. Like David Lynch almost, but some things that I always personally feel are missing from his work, like a strong narrative. It royally sucks that the cliffhanger ending of season 2 was the end of the show. Boo HBO!!

Just finished watching season two. Wow. Really amazing show.

Even though it's unfinished, I have to recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. There needs to be more television like this.

Oh man, I wanted to love this show so much... I mean, the concept is AMAZING!

But, it never got out of the "standard TV" rut for me. Once you got past the concept (which, yes, really is fantastic!) it seemed very by-the-numbers. Perhaps I should try checking it out again? I never made it to season 2. Does it gain momentum?

(I never had HBO either!)

You're not the only person who's never had HBO. I was fifteen years out of college before I would even pony up for cable. Now I have it and it turns out Bruce was right.

Never have. Probably never will.
