Song Fight! Anniversaries

Post by Lunkhead »

So a few weeks ago was the 3rd anniversary of my first fight, Bullseye Girl. 6 years listening, 3 years fighting, 15 entries, 0 wins. Whee!

I thought others might want to announce their SF! anniversaries, too, hence the thread. If this isn't the right part of the forum for it, feel free to relocate it, admins.

The first fight I entered was WWNMOIS - 18 Aug 2003 so I missed my 3rd anniversary by quite a bit.
My first board posting (4 reviews, I think, from the fight "Unless I Change My Mind") as well as my first vote was even earlier, around 28 July 2003. I voted for Blind Mime.
Oh well!

My 3 year anniversary was a couple weeks ago. I don't know if it counts though since I haven't entered since this summer.

For some reason I thought my anniversary was coming up. I still have about 3 months left though. Hope this thread is still around then.

Last week was the fifth year anniversary of my first win (albeit entirely undeserved). We passed the fifth year anniversary of my arrival in June, and my debut in July.

My 1st anniversary of submitting to SF will be on Halloween. Not too long from now.

hmmmm, my discovering songfight / submitting to songfight is almost upon us I guess. 3 years ago? PDCMK, anyway. November some time.

Since then around about 120 songs and 4,500 posts (including the genius of those lost to drumbella.)

So, yeah, bow down already, almost everybody in this thread.

Just hit my 1 year anniversary -- I'm member #599, and joined 5/2/2006.

Even get to celebrate with a victory for Clause 5! Thanks SongFight!

I actually really love this site. We had been using the titles for inspiration for our basement jams without submitting for a few months, and eventually glennny submitted some Older Bro/Zip material we worked on together before my formal forum join date. Our two degrees of separation for hearing about this place was ken, who floods me now with killer recording advice semi-daily -- it's great. Before we were submitting, and I knew what it was all about, I remember singing stuff in the band room, and thinking, where the h*l do these titles come from -- something about juicing a pickle -- that's deranged?!?

Overall, it feels great to be here. SongFight rules!

Projects thus far: <ul>
<li><a href="http://songfight.org/artistpage.php?key ... Zipline</a>
<li><a href="http://songfight.org/artistpage.php?key ... ers">Older Brothers</a>
<li><a href="http://songfight.org/artistpage.php?key ... r">Electro Martyr</a>
<li><a href="http://songfight.org/artistpage.php?key=slicks">The Slicks</a>
<li><a href="http://songfight.org/artistpage.php?key ... rlo">Monte Carlo</a>
<li>...
</ul>

Lunkhead -- you're member #26, how is that possible? I thought SongFight has been around for >10 years... Why do members start in 2004?

:) :)

We had to move from the forum that was hosting us to a new one that hosted itself... So your member number is based more on how often you checked the boards than how long you've actually been around :)

My first fight was "Mumbo Jumbo" which took place between July 14th and July 21st, 2003. I discovered Song Fight! through MC Frontalot's website, and the "Gonna Be Your Man" fight which was one week earlier.

So, my four year anniversary is only a couple of months away!

ROCK!

Wow, and here I thought Glenn must have been here years before me, but it was only a month... heh.

My first fight was "Mumbo Jumbo" which was won by co-debutant Glenn Case; I was (quite fairly) out-voted twenty-seven to zero. At any rate, I never have to try too hard to remember when my "anniversary" is. It's like being born on Christmas day. Except without getting screwed on the presents.

Found December 2000 (ABCD Puppies). First entered January 2001 (I LOVE YOU).

I still have yet to win on a solo entry. Of course I have also yet to learn how to actually write a decent song, so I guess it's only fair.

Glenn Case told me about it here and we did "Back From Brazil" and I still haven't won a fight!
