Song Fight Santa Cruz 2006?

Post by Future Boy »

Not to burst Glenn's bubble, but I think that Santa Cruz would be an excellent excellent choice for next year. I'm currently visiting Jack, so this is all from personal experience. Lemme lay it out for you:

Jack Shite already knows of a place that will exactly fit our needs and it is cheap.

There are numerous beachside hotels that y'all could stay in.

There is a beach.

There is a totally cool boardwalk at the beach that has a bunch of old-school carnival rides and a big wooden rollercoaster.

There's a freaky downtown area with cafes and bars and a couple good record stores.

It's on the California coast.

It has nice weather in the summertime.

Need I say more??

I am actually not opposed to this at all. There would be a hell of a lot more to do in Santa Cruz. What do the rest of you think?

ROCK!

Plus - we could get Dan Hicks to sit in!
I'm down with the Cruz. My sister's there, too.

I'd totally be up for that.

I'm guessing that my Mum and older brother would probably come with us. Last family vacation before the brother goes off to college.

Either way, I think Santa Cruz would be awesome. Beaches = Yay. Big Wooden Rollercoasters = Bigger Yay.

Hooray for SF! Live being within driving distance! Santa Cruz is a really fun laid back town, I'm sure everybody would have a great time there. It would be easier to see some of the sites than Boston turned out to be, though maybe more people would need to rent cars.

I think Santa Cruz would be excellent! That is where Phil and I met and fell in love so many years ago. I vote for Santa Cruz! :P

Would Marcus Kellis be attending? IS SKATEBOARDING A CRIME?

Um... anyway I could probably come, yeah, though it'd be easier if it was in Spokane of course. :P Is there a shutle or anything between San Jose and Santa Cruz? 'Cause Southwest flies to San Jose.

No, just a hair-raising drive through dense forest. Some lady went off the rode last year into a valley and wasn't found for days. Hey, that barrier would have cost tax payers thousands!

there is both bus and shuttle service from san jose to santa cruz. the ideal place to fly into would be san jose.

while we are talking about it, here's a link to the place we could have it...

http://www.riotheatre.com/

if you click the booking link and scroll down the page, you will see they have a performance space next door that they rent. this next door space would be perfect. and it's affordable. and it has WIFI access so maybe we really could do a real time stream next time....

like i said, i don't have a problem stepping up to organize this.
