Songfight Live! Santa Cruz: High and Dry
August 18-19, 2006
The Cayuga Vault
1100 Soquel Ave.
Santa Cruz, CA.

spud and i have started to pull together a website together with important information and stuff.

so i hope you all can make it. if you think you might be coming chime in. better yet, give me the name of one song of yours you'd like to make available for any promotion of this (i'd like to put a stream of one song by those coming on the public webpage used to promote the show).

if you're not familar with songfight live, i encourage you to visit here, which talks about the third songfight live, but gives a good overview. the format may end up different, but a good time will be had by all that come. because hell, it's santa cruz.

surfs up!

Ok ok, I concede that that is an excellent title for the event. Meanwhile, moboid and I plan to attend.

I intend to be there... "WTF" might be an interesting song of mine to include in your promo pack for this thing, but something like "High Enough" is probably more like what KA will sound like if KA manages to pull together a pickup band for this thing.

Again, I'll probably arrive in the area a couple days early, and would be glad to do guitar, bass, or backing vocals for anybody...

Primitive Screwheads will attend and participate, yes indeed.

I've got no idea what would be a "good" song of ours to post. Pasty White Man pro'lly has the best fun-to-suck ratio of the lot. Though if there's live audio in full available from Spudfest, that'd be a better version ('cause, y'know, it's live and stuff  )

I'm hoping to attend. "Gonna Be Your Man" is maybe the most polished track of mine you could promote with (but I won't be offended if you don't want to use any).

Sockpuppet will be in attendance. I am not sure which of my songs I will be playing though. Just use whichever fluffy/fluffy porcupine/Pringle Can tracks you feel are the best.

We(myself, stueym, and my mum/stueym's wife) are 85ish% sure we're gonna be there. Obviously we all want to go, but depending on work/money/airmiles/hotel points/etc. we'll see. But it's more likely that we'll be there than not.

If you want a track feel free to use RS&C's Method of Delivery

The Cow Exchange "I'm Having Trouble Concentrating" is probably the best track to promote with, but depending on who's willing to help me out, the live performance's instrumentation will probably sound closer to The Dresden Dolls'.

I just received word that my contract at work has been extended for another year - so now I am not staring unemployment down the barrel - I can definitely start planning a holiday.

1 or 2 issues with my wife's job still to sort out - but I'd say my likelihood of attendence would now be up around the 80% mark.

As far as a sample song goes - I'm quite fond of Tex Beaumont's Pencil Me In

Looking tight, but we'll see once the next month rolls around. Maybe I'll record something by then, too (August, that is).

I sure would love to attend it. Gonna try, but with a baby coming I'm not so sure the wife would dig. We'll see. Maybe she'll come and I can come and hang out with Jack. Hell maybe Gert can go and we can do it up live. NOT!!!! That would almost be certain.

are you high and dry with art?

Post by Tawny »

I may be able to help with any other artsy needs. Is Phil gonna do a logo, too, when he makes the poster? This is probably the only way I might be able to contribute since I know none of you wants to hear me try to play a tinwhistle (the most recent instrument that has conquered me). :)

Just PM or AIM me (tanyataer) if you have any requests. I'm all sorts of excited for August!

Requested the time off today (Thursday through Sunday). Planning on buying airfare for Rachael and I after we DJ a wedding on the 10th of June.

It's looking good this year! :)

ROCK!
