I'm pretty sure the camera was off by that point, unfortunately...Lunkhead wrote:

I really should have taken a few more pictures or videos at the hootenany. It was a fun time.

Re: Song Fight Live! 2012, Seattle, July 13-15
We attempted to play "Walking the Border" to no avail. We made it all the way through "Skyline", and attempted an encore of "On My Block", but I had to truncate that as well, somewhat more gracefully than the first one.

I modified my earlier post to note that Merisan was backed up by frankie big face on "The Best Place In Town" during our set, and on "Blame It On Ginger" during the hootenanny. Thanks frankie!

Re: Song Fight Live! 2012, Seattle, July 13-15
I can't entirely remember the order cause I switched it at the last moment... something like this:
You Are The Heartbeat Of This Office For Sure
Right There at the Edge
Inside the Van
(Everybody) Calm Down
The Best Place in Town Is Also the Darkest
Isle Dauphine
I'm With Steve Now
You Are The Heartbeat Of This Office For Sure
Right There at the Edge
Inside the Van
(Everybody) Calm Down
The Best Place in Town Is Also the Darkest
Isle Dauphine
I'm With Steve Now
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Re: Song Fight Live! 2012, Seattle, July 13-15
I'm trying really hard to remember my set but I just can't. I made it up as I went along.
The ones I remember are:
*Stranded
*Circle Me
*Blame It On Ginger
*Elizabeth the Great
*the last afternoon of a woman he only thought he knew (had to correct the title)
(I had Chris Cogott play guitar on that and he sang a bit)
There was the Heckler incident during this. Or some fighting happening. I may or may not have played more than this.
(I vaguely remember playing some stuff at the party later but hope it was not recorded because I was terribly drunk. I almost posted in the fdrinking thread!)

Nooooo! Why couldn't it have been Sweet Lou's instead? Man, Song Fight!'s reign of terror continues.

Re: Song Fight Live! 2012, Seattle, July 13-15
I've heard that R&P has done stuff to screw over various bands, and it did seem a bit suspicious that they had JUST discontinued kitchen service the night we went up (but hadn't removed their awesome-sounding menu yet), so maybe them hosting us was an act of desperation on their part to begin with.
Also, apparently they just shut down on August 28 without warning, and without even telling their scheduled performers. Real classy. (Their site calendar still shows all their upcoming shows, too.)
This makes me think of SoCha, which agreed to host us in San Francisco, stopped communicating, removed us from the calendar and rebooked the night without letting us know, and then went out of business a month later. (The wine bar that eventually replaced it is way better, by the way.)

A bar in trouble is like the Romney campaign. Deny the harsh facts, press on like you will be victorious, act surprised when the doors are locked one morning.

During the whole time that I was dropping by there setting up the show, they never had kitchen service. I think they discontinued it before they started it.fluffy wrote:I've heard that R&P has done stuff to screw over various bands, and it did seem a bit suspicious that they had JUST discontinued kitchen service the night we went up
