It was really cool meeting you in person! Thanks for coming out to the show. Our drummer, who loves Nur Ein, was blown away, he kept saying he couldn't believe he met someone from song fight in person. Come August his head is going to explode.

Also, as a side note, we performed an impromptu cover of Cypress Hill's Hits from the Bong thinking people would get a kick out of it. Unfortunately everybody there was too young to know what the hell Cypress Hill is. I've got 7 years on my girlfriend, she thought I wrote the damn thing. Sheesh.

I have to chime in here and state that this would have been my vote. Although Weird and Wired is a great play on words and I fully support it.

I haven't been to one of these things in years and to be completely honest, I probably won't make it this year either. But I'm putting Songfight! back on my radar and if for any reason my brother-in-law gets the job he's been prospecting for there in Austin, then I'd try to make this an excuse to visit.

Ya'll have fun and drink lots of water.

Hey Hoblit! It's so funny to see you posted on here yesterday, because I rocked out to your Accelerator today as I was driving back from San Francisco. Beautiful day, windows down, all the way to the floor the accelerator!

Anyways, you and I rocked today like old times!

If I can somehow get two pianos on that stage, this is a thing that will need to happen.

Huh. If this happens, dueling pianos + buzzsaw guitar + drums may have to be the arrangement for a few (if not all) of my songs...

YAY!!!!!
Image

That makes ten confirmed performing acts, with a another half-dozen still in "Maybe" limbo.

I'm going to start looking into making a poster for this thing sometime in the next couple of weeks. Anyone want to put their mad Photoshop $killz to work, or should I outsource it outside of the community?

How's everyone doing? Any more confirmations? How are the travel plans going? How are the set list plans going?

Good questions!

By the way, I keep meaning to look up accommodations in the area to share with y'all. Does anyone need help finding a place to stay? Will anyone need the spare bed or sofa in my house?

Marcus said he'd come by, but wouldn't play a set. Future Boy is psyched. Erik didn't give me a straight answer, but I'd be surprised if we saw him. Perhaps someone who's known him longer than I have might be able to convince him to overcome his reservations...

I also invited Seth (Brother Machine), and haven't heard anything back one way or the other.

Other than the ever-approaching date, none really. I'm still looking for someone to design a poster, but everything with the venue is all set.

Is there anyone waiting on any particular information or action from me?

Hey everyone!

Could those of you who are attending please let me know your schedules? Particularly, when you're arriving in Austin, and when you're leaving. It'll help me figure out when I can schedule things that aren't related to the concert.

Flight is booked! In in Wednesday the 7th, out on Monday the 12th.

My girlfriend is coming with me, and we're planning on doing some touristing/visiting before and/or after the official Song Fight related activities. I'm getting excited!
