Packing, packing.....then a quick sleep for a few hours - before I set off for the 2 hour drive to Brisbane.

I ended up packing two days ago thanks to my usual neurotic tendencies. And I keep on re-checking to make sure I'm not forgetting anything useful. I'm pretty sure in all that I remembered to bring underpants.

Yep - I got a bit of OCD in that area too.

Just woke up - overslept by 2 hours. But it's fine! i had scheduled on getting to the airport 4 hours early. Time to drive to Brisbane - and I will still beat the morning rush hour and arrive by 6. Plane leaves at 10.

I'm arriving Friday at 11ish into DCA, leaving Sunday at 6.

Anyone down for a tourist group on Saturday? Is our best bet to just wander to some museums, or just try and see all the main sights on some sort of guided tour (Duck tour? Segway tour? Bus tour??)

Also, I'm going straight from D.C. to a work trip in Gulfport, Mississippi(oh yeah!), so packing is going to end up being a bit schizophrenic.

It's REALLY easy to bicycle around the core sites. It's all flat, and there are tons of wide sidewalks full of pedestrians to run over.

I'd like to visit the Corcoran museum.

I am very interested in duck tours, Bjam! That sounds fantastic!

Here's my tentative schedule.

Wednesday - Arrive afternoon/evening - would be open to potential dinner or karaoke or something.
Thursday - Touristy stuff with my girl if anyone wants to join.
Friday - Lunch/brunch, studio to practice, Friday night show
Saturday - No plans yet except Saturday night show
Sunday - Free all day

I get in Thursday Friday early AM, and so far just have rehearsals Friday after lunch and the two nights planned. I'm free all day Sunday and Monday morning. I fly home Monday late afternoon.

EDIT: Oops, I get in Friday AM, my mistake.

I also get in Thursday morning. (Reminds me Sam, will need to adjust my availability as I actually get back AFTER you are in town-- though we'll see whether you or I get to my neighborhood first!)

I arrive Thursday evening, but I haven't made any concrete plans yet at all. I'll probably just start calling whoever's number I have until I figure out where the people are at. :)

I'm laid over at Chicago Midway right now, where the Wi-Fi is expensive and my (Sprint) hotspot's coverage is terrible. And this shitty overpriced cobb salad is drenched in mayonnaise. HOORAY.

Also my flight's been delayed. HOORAY.

So, anyone want to do karaoke again at hopefully a better venue than last year?

I am always down for karaoke. Maybe somewhere after the live shows? If it's not too late...

I don't know anymore what thread is right for what topics, but, should we try to organize a bit in advance about how we're going to deal with having to do our own sound...? I can probably handle it when I'm not on stage if necessary, but it'd be great to have some folks to share in the work, and I'll be in a few sets Friday night too so we probably at least need one other person.

I'm quite sorry I missed out the karaoke last year, and will happily join you if I'm in town when you decide to go.

I'm happy to help Friday and after my set on Saturday.

Jon - when do you get in?
Ray - only Wednesday, or any day after too?

I'd like to maximize the attendance since I do get tired of karaoke. :). But I'm up for going out all the nights, and hey sometimes you accidentally end up at karaoke...

My flight lands around 5pm on Thursday.

I am finally at the bed and breakfast. I really should have thought this through further. Being on the top floor of a 3-story walkup of a house that was probably built in the 1700s is not particularly compatible with a fucking heavy suitcase loaded with 45 pounds of recording gear, in addition to my backpack loaded with who knows how much nerd toy bullshit.

I am 127% up for karaoke, preferably AFTER Friday since I don't want to ruin my voice for the show. (I do A Thing when I do karaoke, and I usually can't sing for a few days afterward.)

We won't be leaving until sometime on Friday, and will be arriving appx 2.5hrs. later. It will be a long trip, filled with multiple pee stops, and possible fast food drive-thru. Though I doubt anyone would really want to make the trip over their short stay, Charlottesville VA. Is full of history and food and beer, and you're welcome to visit. I can't attest to how late after we will be staying, as we do then have to drive the 2.5hrs. Back home... but you never know, it may be espresso shots at 11pm.
