Could you become a US citizen!

Could you become a US citizen? Thankfully, AP US History is happily preparing me for my eventual citizenship test.
Some of the questions seem pretty obvious to me, but I'm sure there are some people who don't know some of them. D'you know what the tallest mountain in the US is?

the marriage thing sucks. bad route unless you're in some kind of rediculously perfect lovey sitaution. my friend did it, but after a few years she still hadn't been evaluated and eventually, being far too young to be married the first place, the relationship split up and they parted ways on a bad note... so.. even after years of legit marriage, you still have to do a lot of work and interviews to really end up a "citizen" via marriage. I have another friend in the opposite situation, strugging to get citizenship in the netherlands, despite the fact that she is married to a citizen there. go figure.Bjam wrote:No idea. I believe so. I haven't even gotten my greencard yet, so citizenship isn't for a good few years. (Unless I get married to an American real soon)
my boyfriend isn't from the US (he's from Australia), and apparently he's already looked into the greencard thing as well and it's not impossible.. so good luck with whatever you decide to do!!! I'm sure with a decent immigration lawyer you'll get it all sorted out.

What a stupid test.... howz about some essay questions MR Emilio Gonzalez?
Why should a deeply religious person value the seperation of church and state?
What contributed most to the downfall of the USSR -the allure of Democracy or the alure of Capitalism?
which is more conducive to the persuit of happiness - safety or freedom ?
GW would fail the test then we deport him .... somewhere else .....
EWWWW I get PO'd about this stuff ... tallest mountain GEEEZZZ!!!

Trust me, as someone who works in Immigration (I'm ICE not CIS, though there isn't much of a difference), we get a ton of people in here who would fail miserably.

nope. i assure you, my romantic interests are far far removed from anyone here on SF. although my bandmates are all super hot and will likely cause riots when we go on our first world tour, as people will be killing themselves to try and sniff our dirty underwear. but that's really besides the point.Sven wrote:Denyer, you sly devil, you!lucidia wrote:

Re: Could you become a US citizen!
I do - but the people writing the test don't. From base to peak - it's Mauna Kea.Bjam wrote: D'you know what the tallest mountain in the US is?
Mt McKinley is only correct if the question specified tallest mountain above sea-level or the highest point in the USA (which it didn't)

A: America
"America" - a country? If this was Trivial Pursuit - I'd be calling that wrong.
Commonwealth of Australia
Swiss Confederation
French Republic
Kingdom of Belgium
Russian Federation
People's Republic of China
Republic of Italy
Dominion of Canada
United Mexican States
Yeah, I hate it when people don't use the proper name of a country.
