Hmmmm...Canada with a weaker dollar but better weather? Hey! That's Australia!

Man! That sounds great. If I hated my family, I would totally move there!

Yes, what a blast. Let's hope he gets elected so we can all celebrate with World War III together. Yipeee!

This one of those things that can't be pinpointed. If another front busted out somewhere in the world, would we then concede that we already in WWIII?

I mean, when did WWII actually start... what day did someone wake up and say, today is the beginning of WWII. Was it Poland? or was it France? Or was it when Hitler started bombing England did someone finally call it?

There is a war in Afghanistan and Iraq, Isreal & Palestine are pretty much at war as well as Lebanese Hezbollah. You have Tibet trying to revolution. I'll admit that India and Pakistan have calmed down but there is still a lot of tension. Kosovo... etc...(add in all the African affairs)

My point? It might not take much more for history books to consider this time period WWIII.

A good point, too. Perhaps people would label it 'regional conflicts', but I hear what you're saying and don't disagree.

Now, Hoblit: What the heck is the matter with Florida? Can you guys catch up and start getting these elections done right? Or even done at all? I think your mobs might be likely to form in the streets of Tallahassee before Washington. What's going on down there? :)

That's a good question. I don't know the answer. It will consume my entire being until I do find the answer. I assume it was the same day that The Great War became WW1 - but I don't know when that exactly was.

Here is one answer:

Dear Jack,
World War I was commonly called The Great War or sometimes"the war to end all wars" until World War II started. Although the name "First World War" was coined as early as 1920 by Lt. Colonel a Court Repington in the First World War, 1914-1918. Some scholars consider the First World War merely the first phase of a 30-year-long war that spans the time frame of 1914 to 1945. The name of World War II was coined as early as 1942 by someone in the Roosevelt Administration. Please rate my response and May God Bless-Major Robert A. Lynn, USMCR

Clinton, Obama Attack Each Other For Being Too Negative

I'll tell ya, I'm seriously considering voting third party again. This is stupidity of the lowest order.

Worth considering. When I saw Jesses Ventura on TV a few weeks ago (regardless of what a nut he may or may not be) he said something like there should be a vote of no confidence. I think maybe a third party vote ends up being quite similar. I must say that I like Obama the best of the three, but I don't think that's really saying much. As usual, it comes down to voting for the lesser of evils. Lame, and discouraging.

Confession: I voted for -gulp- Ross Perot in '92. So much for my feeble reputation!

Can you give me some insight into what things about Obama you feel are evil? What are the things that make you think "I have no confidence that he will be able to perform the job of President adequately"?

I just wanted to interject here to remind Erik that the term "lesser of two evils" is just that, a turn of phrase. I don't necessarily think he meant that Obama was evil per say.

Oh, I know (and knew) that "lesser of two evils" is a turn of phrase, but it's a phrase that means "either choice will suck, just one will suck alot more". That's what I wanted someone to shed light upon. Non-rhetorically speaking, what things about Obama make someone think that he would suck at being President?

OK, sorry, but I can't stop myself: It's spelt per se (it's latin).

Also, while I'm getting pedantic nitpicks off my chest, voila is not spelt (or pronounced) 'walla'.

Apologies for the drive-by nitpicking, normal service should resume shortly.

Oh no.

Forgot the regular debates. What I saw was mindblowing. Clinton, Obama and McCain all on WWE Raw doing speeches. And of course, they were all filled with bad wrestling references like "Can you smell what Barack is cooking?" and "Whatcha gonna do when McCain and his McCainacs run wild on you".

That was painful to watch.
