A well deserved day off today for me. I'll be playing the hell out of Rock Band and HOPEING to record a song. Whether it's my too late version of At the Arcade or something else entirely is unknown.

QotD: Who is a band/singer you love that no one else you know has heard of?

I listen to alot of bands/singers on soundclick so there are alot of ones I could name really. But I think my favorite right now is Bitstream Dream. http://www.soundclick.com/bitstreamdream The music is great and the vocalist has such a sexy voice (yeah it's a chick). If you only listen to one song, I would highly suggest Beauty Unfold.

Have an awesome weekend everyone.
From spoken word to actual singing, I can screw up any style with style. :D

QOTD: Stolen Babies.
Now that's music I'd love to be making, heh.

Edit: I can't parse before my morning coffee. Sorry 'bout the fucking arrogance.

Pop Debris

They're amazing. I'm not the only person I know who knows about them, since I've shown their music to a few of my friends, but they're definitely not a favorite among anyone I know. You should check them out. I recommend all their songs, but 'Never Was Perfect' is a favorite of mine.

QOTD: Ferraby Lionheart. He has one of those perfectly imperfect voices that I love. I think he's going to become a known name in the near future. A great blend of folk and melodramatic pop at it's best. Worth a listen if you haven't heard him before. He's part of my easy listening play list. Yes, even I have an easy listening play list.

Rone, Bitstream sounds ok, but they need some real instruments. There are probably keys there, but I can never tell anymore if it's a keyboard or dropping in midi loops. I have trouble getting behind that kind of music. But it's not unpleasant to the ears, where my music with real instruments can be quite unpleasant to some ears.

I know...that's three.

Well, as someone who uses FruityLoops and a mic to record his music, I can appreciate what they do. :D I couldn't play a guitar or a set of drums to save my life (although I can do it quite well on Rock Band).

I loathe rock band drums. I honestly can't play the damn things (and those drumsticks are beasts compared to what I usually use)

I bet that if you spent as much time banging on a guitar as you do playing "rock band", you'd be a killer guitar player inside of 6 months. Plus chicks dig guitar player. :P

I totally agree. Rone, sell rock band and buy a guitar and some lessons.

I've been listening to this band Blade of the Ripper a ton. Kind of carrying the horrorpunk Misfits torch, but more metallic. Basically if AFI wasn't a bunch of flamboyant girly dorks and were grizzly metal dudes, that would be Blade of the Ripper.

Niv - heads up to this band, I think you'd love them. Even though I just made fun of AFI... sorry.

So I'm in a hotel room in Phoenix waiting to go home to Tucson. I'm officially an art school dropout, ha. Except I'm coming back so I guess that's different. Anyway, it feels pretty weird. I'm embarrassed to see my friends tonight.

Yesterday was a busy day for me. I was cooking and stuff, and then I had a party for close friends and family, which went well.

qotd: John Brodeur. I mean some of you have probably heard of him from me since I gush about him so much but seriously, he's awesome and needs to be better-known.
