Haha, I love the theme song... and now I know how to pronounce Nur Ein. I was pronouncing it more like the women's name Noreen. As in, rhyming with "Door" and "Spleen". I'm gonna try again, even though both of my attempts so far have gone very badly. Although, on the bright side, my Round 0 entry last year has made its way into my band's set list and we'll be performing it live for the first time next month. Probably close to the anniversary of writing it... time flies!

God, my schedule sucks this year. I would like to throw my hat back into the ring after two consecutive years of judging. But I'm taking care of a six-month-old and packing for a cross-country move (which will also keep me away from my computer for almost the entirety of Round 2). So I guess that's not a "no," so much as it's a "I'm going to try, but no promises."

Ha! Forgot it was this soon. I usually listen to a lot of different types of music. Take in to put out, ya know? Been listening to the Mummies lately. Better mix it up or we're all in trouble.

I tried to write and record quality stuff faster. The quality part didn't end up happening. :roll: Listening to music for enjoyment, stuff I don't normally listen to. Bach one day, Sufjan Stevens yesterday. Calculus today [the subject, not the band]

Do we have to sign up, or is that implied by submitting for round 0?

Wow - we haven't even started and Glennny's already snarkin' - must be a record.

I am prepping for judging by practising down-score-ing moaners . And typing '1st place Frankie Big Face' over and over again, apparently :)

aaand...I just got me a brand new, fresh ' steamy, ears a ringin' head cold. How's that for preparation! Hope the first challenge is "sound like your singing with a sock in each nostril". Heh. Might be an improvement. NUR EIN! (sniff sniff)

I'm sorry about your cold! Drink lots of tea! With mint :)

I myself have birds--many birds--trying to get girlfriends outside my recording room. What this means for me, who knows? Could be a lot of nothing. Could be I'm back with more strange this year. NUR EIN! {SQUAK SQUAK!}

Does this make J$ the most frequent judge other than Niveous?

I might give it a shot this year, but I'll be pretty low key. I'm just firing up my new PC with Sonar Professional, which is a jump of 10 years from Sonar 4, and am experiencing learning curve shock. The workflow that normally lets me crank out something fancy will not happen in time for Nur Ein. I might need to go minimalist and see how far it gets me!

The website is all updated and ready to go.

I probably will not be involved this year, other than web site support.
If I had a dollar for every one of my songs j$ has called a 90s pastiche, I'd have $1 for every song I've written.

Hey!

For those who care, I am alive. However, (good) things in my personal life are consuming my time and I am not going to be Nur Ein-ing this year. (Unless something insane happens between now and Monday.)

So, yeah. Just thought I'd put that out there so Glennny can stop obsessing over ways to steal the j$ vote from me. No more excuses, GLEN.

Good luck, everyone! Nur Ein!!!!!!!!!!!
